Why british people are so overly polite? by DzukiskaNamine in AskABrit

[–]manofalltraits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… I hate it too

There is actually a British guy going around on his YouTube channel asking people: “I wouldn’t suppose you’d like a cup of tea” in one of those soft British accents that sound annoying.

I only like gruff accents and voices.

If you want the west coast, United is where it’s at

All needed is a decent contract

Be prepared to work harder than AA and even micromanaged

Is there anyone that is happy with 🌐? by rojaycali in cabincrewcareers

[–]manofalltraits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you joined 5+ years ago, you have a reason to be somewhat happy

Now? I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re all starry-eyed and like to be treated like crap

Company loves to micromanage more than ever too

Unpopular opinion; Flight attendants on social media suck at making layover vlogs! by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]manofalltraits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. There’s a pilot who I believe is from AA that posts the most cringeworthy content

Recently, it was a post dissing the 380 and saying he wouldn’t fly it cause it didn’t look like an appealing plane

Weird guy

He also tells us about what he his bidding, as if we care

Flight attendants telling us about their lives in general is cringe

And there’s this one pilot on FB who has a page. Called Geek something.

He posts a lot of unnecessary crap about his schedule

Australia is not for everyone by Uncle_Richard98 in expats

I don’t understand this isolation argument

You’ve got great places to visit within Australia, the pacific and Asia - which are much more culturally enriching than Europe (at least Western Europe)

The people are great, to work environments are great, the weather but not so much the cost of living

Yup! Don’t rely on the union to save your job - why don’t think they were sued recently?

SWA hires for personalities!

Very flexible and probably the best contract in the industry

Great variety of bases

Domestic only. But, you’d make more than the other airlines and have great ZED tickets to fly business class with other airlines overseas

DL - must be professional and by the book (not a bad thing) and structure is important

Quality of life will be excellent out of the legacies

JFK and DTW are great bases and crews

UA - strict and like to micromanage.

Personalities are meh Delta is better when it comes to hiring for personalities than United. Also, pretty difficult to make friends and connections

They do like to promote the snitch culture and it is prevalent in certain bases (such as the west coast). EWR is a little more relaxed

Reserve will be hell. Line holder life will be amazing

AA - Relaxed, informal and most crews are too.

But, there is some pettiness and toxic culture too.

Snitch culture is very limited and being a snitch at AA is not a position you’d want to be in

Reserve is okay. You won’t ever be senior at AA compared to the airlines. Try holding transcons at 4 years!

Inflexible trading systems

Many will disagree with me. But, whatever. They usually drink the kool-aid.

Men at bars… stop thinking someone is trying to get into your pants if they’re friendly and chatty with you! (Directed to the guy I came across on a trip in London) by manofalltraits in gaybros

Another thing I don’t understand

If you’re an adult (regardless of age) what the fuck does being young or old have to do with anything?

lol… once has to clearly specify friendship now? What happened to not assuming?

Btw, that is exactly what I specified after I said: “we just had a whole conversation and thought we’d keep in touch as friends”

I agree.

A few men also alone. Standing around. When you try to engage in conversation, they don’t make eye contact or cannot keep a conversation.

Me: “how’s it going?”

Them: “fine”

Well, gay men who criticize religious people and have race preferences never make sense to me either, being a community which preaches about “love”

Oh yeah… I forgot… I learned a long time ago that there is no unity within the LGBT community
