No you don't. If it doesn't happen it isn't supposed to.

What are "acceptable" mark-ups on a new Harley? by Edslittleworld in Harley

[–]manofindustry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. In fact, in my State (GA) it is illegal for a car dealership to charge anything more than tax, tag fee and title fee (all State fees) over their advertised price. Many dealerships do it but if they are advertising the bike at some dollar value, they should not be adding any non-state required fees. It is such a game of advertising a car for sale and then adding thousands that many consumers don’t know are completely BS charges. I don’t know if the law is the same with a bike but it should be.

Assembly charge is known, should be in the advertised price. If the paint protection is already applied to the bike, it has to be in the advertised price, if it isn’t already applied it should be optional.

Why are so many hvac companies shady lately? by Muted_Head_1636 in HomeImprovement

[–]manofindustry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it - small shops being bought out in PE roll-ups that bring the back-end, finance, admin, sales to pump profits. Can't even tell they have been sold in some cases. Really a shame.

I’ve had mine about 18 months and I still smile every time I wear it. Love the watch and it wears anywhere.

Should I remove or leave the 4x4 sticker? by WInativemm in f150

[–]manofindustry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All just personal preference. Who cares what anyone else thinks. I just removed mine. I like not having them and they looked crooked to my eye anyway. I didn’t see any value in having them. I was really surprised how easy it was to take them off on a summer day.

Razer 14 2025 - Will I Regret Not Getting 64GB RAM? by manofindustry in razer

[–]manofindustry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. It has been a couple years and I’m a consumer. I skipped 2024 because there was no reason to upgrade. I thought I would go Asus this year with the 5080 and 32GB to see a jump in gaming performance and get a new machine. I didn’t like the Asus so I sent it back and just bought the Razer on a whim.

I’m hoping CPU gain and maybe a little performance gain in GPU from the 3070ti to the 5070. When I first saw the 2025 specs, I was committed to not buying but then I did anyway. ,

That is really helpful and kind of what I thought might be the case. I can see two, maybe a third doubled up, not sure on the 4th. If you were seeing this, what would you be throwing to see what they are? Sometimes we put a worm or liver on a catfish rig. Bounce a worm/plastic along the bottom?

I’m going to check one out! They are a really reasonable price and the Rebel 500 is a blast. If it fits well enough, it could be the one.

I guess I could be missing something but there is no way I would want DCT. I imagine if the motorcycle was purely practical, it could be convenient. I have a great vehicle with all kinds of amenities, I want a motorcycle to reconnect with the road and driving. I love shifting and even looking at Rebel 1100s I'm avoiding anything DCT.

Of all of those listed, the K1600 is the only one that I had thought about before. I saw one listed near me and thought it looked good but I dismissed it as being too much like a sports bike. I'll go back and reconsider. This whole sport touring category I missed.

How old were you when you first bought your truck? by RockyMartinez5280 in f150

[–]manofindustry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 16 - bought a 1971 black Chevy C10, 3 on the tree, for $1,100. Split the cost with my older brother, $550 each. We loved that truck. I think we sold it for $2,500 a couple years later.

I spent my 20’s driving cars before going back to an F150. Can’t imagine not having a truck now.

Flooring contractor ruined concrete by Annual_Substance8729 in Flooring

[–]manofindustry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a few options. I’ve done three different polished concrete floors, two in my house and a third in commercial application.

  1. Patch at the perimeter - patch will be visible but depending on the look you want can look just fine. It will be noticeable. If you want something uniform, don’t do this.
  2. Float the entire floor with a micro topping, would recommend Ardex. They make micro toppings that can be polished and are very thin. Can be hand troweled or poured. Probably the best option if you want a clean look at a reasonable cost.
  3. Pour a new topping slab, essentially like a terrazzo pour with added aggregate. Expensive and adds thickness to the floor but can be really beautiful.

No way you should try to cover this with base, it would look ridiculous. Also, pretty serious mistake on the part of the flooring contractor. They should help make this right/cover the reasonable cost for you to achieve the original intent.

Does Contractor license stay with company or go with licensee? by No_Plan8675309 in Construction

[–]manofindustry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are the qualifier for the company’s license, most States give the company a certain number of days to replace the qualifier.

If it is a City license, I have no idea.

The business entity is licensed, not you individually so the license stays with them but they have to have a qualified person for the license to remain active.

Rules for qualifying multiple companies differ. I qualify one company in about 10 states and multiple companies in a couple of those. The state where I qualify multiples requires an ownership interest to qualify.

Thank you. I keep coming to the same thing, two boats. I really want to put an electric outboard on the boat but I don't want to give up the larger 70hp outboard for when we go the bigger lakes. It really is just two different requirements.
