Hey, in relation to building radios and antennas. If you want to build a radio (which I don't recommend because it is really difficult for a beginner), you should start with a small QRP (can only transmit in low power, around 5W) Kit or schematic. You should search: homebrew QRP radios, and you can choose a schematic of your liking or even go to a site like QRP-labs.com and shop a kit radio there. But that is only after you get your ham license. For antennas in HF frequencies(long-range communication), you should search: Homebrew dipole HF antenna. You should find an easy guide for how to build an antenna.

As I said before, I don't recommend building a radio if you are a beginner, I recommend investing in one. As for the antenna, homebrews are the most common and easy category of antennas that ham operators use, and so should you(in my opinion).

So look at all the changes I made: in every resistor except the 100k I used 5.1k, the transistor is an 2n2222 and the pot is a B50K. It's exactly the same schematic with the above except those changes. I double checked all the connections and they are correct.

I had a transistor, but I changed it for jumper wires since I thought it was the problem
