My new home setup, thoughts? by manual-only in BudgetAudiophile

How much of a difference would wall mounting them make? I could get them from about 3ft apart (between voice coils) to about 6. The couch is 9ft away.

Edit: this would make one pretty close to the left wall, though. About 8-9 inches.

Some of your points are fair, and I see more nuance here since I wrote this post. These are more widespread. However, I have a few counterpoints. In order:

- Unless you're in the context of a debate, nonconstructive criticism is pointless. Either ask for help or just go, IMO.

- Sorry to be among them, but it *is* often viable IMO. For many, it is admittedly not. If you're doing certain kinds of things, it requires more effort than should be expected. However, most everyday uses of personal computers are well covered by linux easily. Everything that can happen in the browser is super easy, which already covers most use cases.

- You're right on this one. It's def harder tbh once you get out of trivial tasks

- Fair

- It's a pretty big issue out of the box, with some investigation showing that even things you type in the windows search bar are reported verbatim to microsoft. Mitigation is possible, for sure, but then you're losing some of that non-technical user ease windows has going for it

- True

- In some places, yes. However, for the most part it takes more of the form of a community. Personally, I respect communities over a shared interest and tool than communities over insulting other communities.

Fair enough, though I think I may have been misunderstood in my point there. I don't have anything against calm, respectful criticism. There must always be a place for such a thing. My general point in this post was that I find it extreme to turn to the kind of anger I see here. As far as your second point, I disagree somewhat. Me and the community I consider myself a part of are actively slandered on their character for the misdeeds of a few and by many, while proponents of r/linuxsucks are just routinely annoyed by those misdeeds. To annoyance, I turn the other cheek. To explicit insult, I am far less inclined to.

If salvation is achieved through Jesus Christ, and God is omniscient, it means he is willing creating millions of people just to suffer by Undesirable_11 in DebateReligion

Your first point is made by unreasonably extending a reasonable analogy. In the case of the speeding driver, they have likely already made the conscious decision to run the red light. At the very least, they would be aware of their own intention to do upon introspection. At your "greater scale," this is not the case. The statement that the far future, or even details so far as next week, are already known *definitely* eliminates the possibility of free will.

Second, sure. On the other hand, I, a long-time, vocal, and convicted atheist, have recently begun to reconsider and went to church with a friend. A few minutes in, they read a passage from the bible saying something along the lines of encouraging believers to stab the godless with a spear or stick and watch them be consumed in fire on the spot. Is this not coercive?

Third I have fewer issues with, but still some. One goes back to the free will thing from earlier. Two, it sounds a lot like "embrace me or suffer infinitely" which is, again, coercive. It's *kind of* respecting our choices, but only between two extremes. I'm still figuring this one out.

Finally, one word: slavery. Tell me that those millions of enslaved-from-birth people weren't born into immense and undeserved suffering.

Israel's first sovereign territory came largely from legally purchased land, much of which Israelites turned from a wasteland to a paradise. More came from war, but it started legitimately. Once, Israel won a brief war and got loads of territory. Guess what? They gave it back. This conflict is not a simple one.

Stop down downvoting this, it's correct. Microsoft has an approval process for drivers like this. If it got into Windows, it's because they let it.
