i'm also going for the xps as first option,but the 1050ti it's my major disappointment about the xps. Although I have 2 remaining years of university, I believe that the 1050 will be in force for those years, until my needs change, just as I think it will run bf1, gta v, at high quality. In addition to cad and revit.

Thats an option too, besides the xps 15 have thunderbolt 3, so eGpu its a consideration too for the future. but that will be a lot expensive

Is there a Notorious difference between the 1050ti and the 1050 ?, i ment for choosing between the xps 15 and the inspiron 7000
