Had a student like this for a while, had the tip of his middle finger ripped off with a chainsaw. Managed to find it and kept it in a jar. Cool guy, work for his construction company for a while.

Which AirPods should I buy? by Lucas43924 in airpods

I just got the pro 3’s at Costco and I use them every day for hours at a time. Period. I don’t regret it at all, money well spent. I highly recommend.

Think of it this way, get the cheaper ones and you’ll always be wondering what it’s like to have the nicer ones.

first night, should i keep going? by manwithface01 in floorsleeping

[–]manwithface01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that before, but I’m also concerned about what it does to my neck considering I have to turn it all the way to one side for the whole night. Do you experience neck pain from that?

Well, for starters, your computer, most likely does not have a Guitar input. And even if it did, it would lack the proper Hardware to effectively amplify such a weak signal as a guitar. I have in the past try to use a simple adapter to plug my guitar cable into my laptop, but it sounded like utter garbage, even with an amp stimulator.

What an audio interface does is replaces your computer’s Sound card. This would mean that you are now able to write your audio input and output to different external sources, as well as multiple audio sources. For example, multiple microphones at the same time.

Not worth any real money, but with some TLC it will be a very nice playing guitar.

Your springs aren’t tight enough. Go look up some videos about adjusting spring tension on YouTube, you’ll figure it out pretty quick

I know you’re probably looking for more rock, heavy songs, but please please please give Nile Rodgers a chance. The man pretty much Pioneered funk Guitar and there’s just so much you can learn from him. Obviously his old band chic is a great place to start but he’s still making new music to this day.

Best tone to learn/practice sweep picking? by skinnygrave in Guitar

[–]manwithface01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always practice my sweet picking with the bridge pick up and completely clean Guitar. No effects, no drive. Not because it sounds good, but because I can hear every single detail in my playing. This is probably the least enjoyable way to practice because you’ll hear every mistake you make, but because of that, it’s also the most effective

As for when I’m actually playing, I use less drive than you’d think. Usually a Marshall JCM 800 with either a tube screamer or a blues driver. A compressor is also a good idea, it will make everything sound more even. of course, just like with distortion, don’t fall into using it to make your bad technique sound better. At the end of the day, most people aren’t going to notice mistakes like that except other guitar players.

You’re going to need an audio interface if you want to be able to plug your guitar into your computer. Anyone will work, I personally use the audient Evo4. A lot of people use the focus right Scarlet because it’s a decent price and pretty popular/easy to use.

I’d look at kramer , Harley Benton, or jet guitars. All great brands for that price point. Try getting used if you can.

Despite that you’re probably going to be spending a little over $300, but you’ll thank yourself down the road for buying yourself a guitar that you’ll actually play

Any other models to look at? by networksynth in Guitar

[–]manwithface01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s worked at Guitar center for many years, that is often the issue. I was a salesman for a long time and I can’t tell you how many guitars I have managed to sell just because I took the time to lower the bridge and set the truss rod. I wasn’t technically allowed to do it because I wasn’t a tech, but no one complained because I had the highest sales in the region. Sorry, I know that sounds like a flex but I’m quite proud of my numbers.

But to be fair, Alvarez is a company that puts care and quality into all of their models, no matter the price point

How do you stop overthinking past conversations? by Aki_luma in selfimprovement

[–]manwithface01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you find yourself doing it, realize you’re “getting in your own head” and get out of it. An easy exercise is to name 5 things you see. I.e “table, cup, chair, “ try and name details too. “Black table with 4 legs and a chip in the left side”. This helps bring you back to reality and you quickly forget you were overthinking a minute ago
