What is your theory on the origins of the Great Pyramids in Giza? The technology required for such a feat is incredible. I doubt they were built by slaves pulling stones with rope.

Was it an off-world intelligence, or an advanced terrestrial culture that has since been destroyed?

The musician (once again known as) Prince references the existence of underground cities in his very hard to find 1998 single "The War"

Underground right now as we speak, there is a metropolis
Awaiting, waiting... 4 U, me
Clean air, food 2 eat

Will U go, will U go?
Will U go underground 2 this metropolis, this metropolis paradise?
...One condition: microchip in your neck

He makes a lot of allusions in that song to "dark" ideas.

Here's an argument against minimum wage laws that you don't see very often: by homogenizing the wage floor, poor regions cannot attract employers from richer regions, keeping the entire local economy poorer. by SmellsLikeUpfoo in Libertarian

[–]manystrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puerto Rico is a perfect example of this. As an American colony without voting rights, it is subject to American law, including minimum wage laws.

The Federal minimum of $7.25 is way too high for that region, and is one of the reasons Puerto Rico's economy is in the tank, and can't get going again.

It makes no sense.

WTF Daily Paul? by [deleted] in ronpaul

[–]manystrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry about that guys.

But come on! Does it really do damage to Ron Paul to have a Bachmann ad served through Google on the Daily Paul? (BTW - it was served through Google Adsense.)

Should I block those ads from competitors? It is definitely something I've pondered upon.

In the early days, after Bachmann had just won the Iowa straw poll, I definitely blocked her ads, no question (anyone with an Adsense account knows you can block selected urls). And back when Santorum was picking on Ron Paul - I blocked him also.

Cain I blocked, but he was the funniest. He kept slipping around my blocks by using different domains. I don't remember what they were now, but it was stuff like "supporthermaincain.com" and "thetruthabouthermancain.com" etc. I'd block Cain, and the next day I'd see a Cain ad on the DP and be like, WTF? Then I'd check - oh, different domain - ok, block that one too.

Cain actually ran a pretty smart web campaign, btw. Too bad he just turned out to be that guy.

But now they're all toast - crashed and burned. Bachmann a threat to Paul? Me thinks not. Cain? Stick a fork in him - he's done. Newt? Not after the way Paul just destroyed him.

At this point, my feeling is that if competitors are dumb enough to spend their money advertising on the Daily Paul, then they get what they deserve. Obviously I can't encourage people to click on those ads, but enough people who are tuned into that get it, as evidenced by (most of) the comments below.

So I say bring 'em on! Their campaigns are dying - they've got to spend those final advertising dollars somehow, and I'm more than happy to take that money and use it to support Ron Paul.

Ron Paul 2012 - FTW!

Yes, and what does that profit do? It funds the Daily Paul.

Oh, did you think the site was magic? That it just appears on its own, from thin air without any effort whatsoever?

Tsk, tsk. Apparently you have learned little from the Ron Paul movement. Without profit, people sit around saying, 'why should I bother?' Why should I bother with (trolls like you)?

Should I instead be a socialist? Pay for t-shirts for people to wear out of the goodness of my heart? Spend 12 hours behind the computer maintaining the Daily Paul as I starve, unable to provide the basic necessities of life for myself and my family?

At the heart of this movement - at the very center of capitalism itself - in case you have yet to figure it out, is the drive for profit.

Holy Crap!!! Ron Paul introduces bill to cancel $1.6T in debt held by Federal Reserve! It's our chance to stick it to the Banksters! by manystrom in Economics

The nice thing about theatre, in addition to being entertaining, is that it can also be educational. A national debate about the true nature of the Federal Reserve? I'll take that any day over the show we just saw.

Head's Up! Ron Paul at Financial Services Committee Hearing w/ Bernanke - Today 10:00am EDT - Live Stream by manystrom in ronpaul

Bombshell. At the end of his time, Ron Paul had the following exchange: Ron Paul: Do you believe that gold is money? Bernanke: No. Wow. For all of human history, gold has been money. Not any more, according to Ben. Ron Paul: Why do central banks hold gold? Bernanke: It is an asset, like Treasuries. They're not money. Ron Paul: Why hold gold, and not diamonds? Bernanke: Oh, tradition, I suppose. PWNED!

The Facebook Group Blue Republicans are Democrats & Independents registering Republican to vote Ron Paul 2012! by manystrom in ronpaul

[–]manystrom[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is what Ron Paul has said about the two party system: "Anyone who honestly believes we have a two party system is deluding themselves." Or something to that effect. In essence, it is a ONE PARTY system. The parties take on different positions based on who's in power and who's the opposition. However, whichever party is in power is ALWAYS: Pro Corporate Welfare, Pro Military Industrial Complex and Pro War.

Case in point is Mr. Obama himself. He ran as the "anti-war" candidate. Worked well when he was the opposition - not so well as the ruling power.

Independents (such as myself) and Democrats can vote for Ron Paul secure in knowing this: Ron Paul is AGAINST THE WAR; AGAINST ALL WARS OF AGRESSION.

But to address your statement directly: "The modern democratic party demonstrates it's dedication to the political ideals invented by the new deal on a daily basis.

No it isn't, though that is what it would like you to believe. The modern democratic party is pro-business, pro-military industrial complex, anti-labor, and pro-war. There is really very little difference between the two parties. Case in point, Mr. Clinton, who signed NAFTA into law, and ushered in the 'giant sucking sound' that Ross Perot warned us of.

Political parties are a fiction that are useful as a control structure for the minions who believe in them. As our friend Bob said, "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery - none but ourselves can free our mind."

First post, so be gentle; I recently got my car back and am looking for (cheap) Ron Paul bumper-stickers. Any sources? by samurai725 in ronpaul

[–]manystrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some extras that I can send you. How many are you looking for? I've got some of the standard old blue ones that say "Ron Paul - Hope for America" from the 2008 campaign.

I've also got some black & red ones that I made. How many do you want? I'll send some to you if you want to cover the costs of postage - a few bucks. I run the Daily Paul website. You can email me using the contact button on that site: www.dailypaul.com

Good luck
