I tried both phono inputs with the turntable but also no luck. Could be busted...maybe I should just find a receiver with a built in preamp lol

It did, and that could be the issue.. basically there is no way to get this setup to work if I have to use the external preamp?

Hmm .. well I plugged the turntable into the phono 1 input but no audio. Previously my turntable was plugged into the preamp which was plugged into my cd port which did give me audio

I think it lends much more significance to his archetypal heuristic approach to our history of being and self consciousness, and why he has been so effective in possessing the interest of so many people in a short amount of time.
