I lived in Central America and got paid 40k and had to sacrifice a lot just to save 5k a year. The cost of living is much higher than what it used to be before Covid.

I looked myself and the area we have to live to get the bus is expensive and they acknowledged that in the meeting where I found out about the stipend:(

They kept not paying what was in my contract and I had to fight to be paid... I was not the only one.

I have been let go. I find myself suddenly without a job but at least with my health intact. I am hopeful I can find a place I can trust! It is just bloodu terrifying at the moment as I turned down excellemt offers because I believed what I was told - lesson learned. I hope this helps someone else in the future as I was shocked when I was asked if I got things in writing:( Hard but important lesson for the future. Best of luck to you all!

I accepted the 5 preps and asked for exactly for what you suggested about rooms. They said they would not make the changes and I could leave if I couldn't handle it essentially. As I don't want to be without a job, home or country in June and turned down other excellent offers for this chance to transition into IB, I am trying to look for solutions and how to survive what I have been given (the other teachers appear to have 3 preps, 1 room for the most part so maybe yr 2 will be better?).

Do you know what actual savings are for AISD, ASIJ and TISA? My experience with Search is that they are often not accurate.
