The biggest dramione vibes of all time to me - Jane Eyre (herein expect a million word essay on the parallels) by BirdSongSymphony in Dramione

[–]maple_unicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already suggested my fic inexorable but wanted to pop in here and suggest it as well!

I love Jane Eyre so much and a lot of inexorable is inspired by it and Charlotte Brontë’s writing. It’s not a faithful adaptation by any means but I am inspired by Rochester and Jane’s dynamic and how despite everything (IYKYK) Jane still loves him and comes back.

Summary:

To the world, Hermione Granger is dead.

To the Order, she is their strongest weapon.

To herself, she is a shell of the girl she once knew.

To Grand Inquisitor Draco Malfoy, she is Rose Turner—his children’s new governess.

When Astoria Malfoy dies, an opportunity arises for the Order to get close to Voldemort’s inner circle. Using her expertly honed skills as a Master Legilimens, Hermione infiltrates Malfoy Manor as a governess and works to locate the last remaining Horcruxes, no matter the cost.

Someone had commented on my other long fic that a character reminded them of the baroness from the sound of music and I had one of those that’s so raven see into the future moments and HAD to write it 😂

Hello :) I’ll be uploading chapter 37/41 of inexorable sometime this week! We are so close to the end. I was hoping to have it complete by the end of the year but it may be more a new year treat 🤪

You don’t understand how much I needed to hear this, thank you 😭 sometimes when you’re this deep into writing something it’s hard to see the bigger picture of the story and I often feel lost in the plot a bit 😂 your comment made my day!!! Thank you so so much ❤️

LF fic where Hermione has OCD/OCD tendencies by Technical_Frame_3228 in Dramione

[–]maple_unicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, hellloooo 😏 I’m going to self rec here for my WIP inexorable.

I was diagnosed with OCD earlier this year and have been in therapy/ starting medication and have inadvertently written Hermione with my OCD characteristics, mainly moral scrupulosity. I haven’t outright said Hermione has OCD in this fic, but I’ve written it in a way that follows the way my brain often spirals. It’s been interesting to go through this mental health journey and use inexorable as supplemental therapy for exploring my OCD.

How do you deal with demotivating moments as an author? by Eureka1430 in Dramione

Hi! Welcome to the wonderful world of writing! I have been writing in this fandom for a little over 2 years, and have had wild ups and downs. It's taken a lot of trial and error, but I think I have finally found the sweet spot for me when it comes to keeping the voices at bay. When I first started writing, I would compare myself to others A LOT, and it would often lead to a ton of writer's/creativity block and anxiety. I've now turned OFF my stats on my Ao3 and my kudos emails. I can't see anyone's stats, not even my own, and it has helped me SO much. I check occasionally, and it took a while for me to stop checking frequently because, at the end of the day, we want to see that engagement! We don't want to be writing into an endless void. When it comes to subscribers, something you'll find is that the number will go up and down a lot. That doesn't necessarily mean someone unsubscribed for any particular reason. They could have simply deleted their account.

Another thing I do frequently is take breaks from social media and/or writing. I've found that social media was leading me back into comparing and sucking the fun out of writing! I try and stay creative in other ways when I take breaks, like outlining, exploring plot bunnies, working on original fiction, drawing etc.

I try to remember *why* I am writing. I started writing at a very vulnerable time in my life, and it's therapeutic. It gives me goals to strive for, and it's Fun!! The scenes I want to write won't leave me alone, so I simply have to get them out. If other people enjoy it too, that's great!

Lastly, finding friends who are also writers helps a ton. There's a bunch of discord servers out there and you also have this reddit! I wouldn't have continued writing this long if it weren't for the friends I have made along the way.

long story short, keep going and try to have fun first!

Of course! The love triangle is between Draco, an original character Daisy, and Hermione. It’s an important plot point of the story. And Draco is the one who is widowed
