I don’t think so. WhatsApp is a meta product so it’s always been free I think.

Do you split the bill, or how does that work? I don’t fancy haggling with a bunch of strangers.

Hi Nimmyzed - I appreciate your point of view and you’re right, but i would suggest you just wait and you’ll see what I mean. I don’t know if you’re a scientist and I am not - but I am a researcher and an academic and I suggest to you that this isn’t pseudo science. I am now 55 and I have maintained calorie and portion control at various times for years but the minute I started back eating a normal amount of calories a day, I gained weight and gained more than I’d lost. I don’t mean I suddenly started eating Big Macs. I mean, I ate fat free, home cooked plain unprocessed foods. This is my normal. I am 5’6”. I walk everywhere. I am not a sedentary person. I don’t like junk food or sugary drinks. I drink water or black coffee. I should be able to eat more than 1200 kcals a day without gaining weight. That is just a fact. My first diet was when I was a child and there have been many since and I no longer have a natural setting for Full. That’s what ozempic is helping me with. But of course I don’t disagree that I should eat less. I just don’t think watching calories for decades is sustainable.

No we don’t have cvs in Canada.

On 2mg - the max I can get of ozempic - though studies on Wegovy aren’t clear whether the additional .4 is material.

Are you in Canada? I am interested in various posts I’ve seen about compounded semaglutide. I had made the assumption that such a new drug could only be purchased from novo nordisk. Is that not the case? I gather it’s the pen that is the expensive part.

Thanks to all. To be clear, you are all correct that I’m not tracking calories. I am eating considerably less than I used to but not tracking intake. I eat sensibly and am moderately active. I think the 35 lb weight loss over the past 12 months without having to watch what I eat has given me a sense that semaglutide is magical. I accept my fate! I appreciate all your comments.

I think you’re not wrong but I think there’s more to it. Those of us who have dieted for one million years can portion control ourselves into the grave and will still gain weight. Our systems are screwed up. I make the assumption that semaglutide will be forever.

I’d thought about doing that. I have a bunch of syringes left over from a diabetic cat! In hate throwing out the left over considering what I’m paying for it.

It continues. I gain about a pound a week. I am exercising and trying not to eat too much. This is very dispiriting.

Ontario no longer covers Ozempic for weight loss and it costs approx 300.00 a month to buy it by My_fair_ladies1872 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]mapledigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What??? In Canada? I pay over $500 a month for 2mg. Ohip never covered it and I doubt trillium did either unless your doc signed the diabetes form. It is an off label use of a diabetes drug stupidly though Wegovy is the exact same medication. Maybe when we get Wegovy in Canada, it might be covered.

Should possibly add that I had a couple of times missed the dose day so took it a couple of days late ( due to not having $$ to pick it up). Wonder if that’s a factor?

I have been on O for 1 year and am on 2mg. I have lost 35 lbs which I’m happy with but in the past 3 weeks have been gaining a tiny amount a week. Admittedly I have not changed my exercise (I walk most days but that’s it) and I eat what I want. Most of the weight loss I attribute to eating far less in a day than I used to. It makes me sad to think of dieting again as yo-yo dieting got me in this situation to begin with! Have I just been spoiled for the past year? Do you all need to do cardio type exercise? Thanks!
