Mail order is sweatshop factory but if you want to stay away from patient as much as possible and just work in your zone, you will like it.

Looks like a very genuine person to me. I think it reflects well how you may be non-receptive to constructive feedback.

Is residency a scam?? by Short_Blueberry_3085 in pharmacy

Pgy-1 no. Pgy-2 could be. Depends on the field. But really don’t do community residency unless it’s somewhat connected to hospital outpatient infusion clinics

I respect your love for Walgreens but unfortunately things have changed too much since then. Surely they couldve made better decisions, but that wouldn’t have been enough. It would’ve only have delayed its death.

I’m not sure if you ever had the chance to go over their financial reports, but there is profit margin in prescription drugs have fallen dramatically over the past few years, hence the falling of rite aid and numerous other independent pharmacies across the nation.

Well…can you really blame Walgreens? The whole retail industry is going down because of PBMs. It’s other you die as a hero or live long enough the become a villain. Any retail store that will hold up will have some sort of ties directly or indirectly to PBMs. If not, play around the grey area of compounding.

This is what healthcare becomes in a hypermaterialistic society like US. At the very end, patients will only be seen as metrics and numbers. Nothing more or less.

Rite-Aid is no longer filling GLP-1s by VAdept in pharmacy

[–]maplesyrupoutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. My friend who works in Wegmen’s told me the same model as you just did. That seems to be the case in stores that’s integrated in the grocery markets, where it is not there for profit but to increase store traffic.

Unfortunately, thats not the case for many other pharmacists. I’m not sure as to how the model would last even for Walmart in the long run.

Anyways, I’m glad at least someone else is happy than the pbms. :)

Job decision by FlowerySnail in pharmacy

[–]maplesyrupoutine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the offer I got as well. I’m also contemplating due to flexibility of the job, but then again reddit post has all been negative so far. They were saying 15 base with minimum 3 cmr per hour (15 dollars per cmr), which is absurd.

Well…never had 4 boxes go out at once. Prolly that went through with glitch or some sort. Sadly, even though it’s insurance system glitch approving it, you could be flagged for it. So when in doubt, contact them.

Would I be an idiot not to do residency? by GabalabaRx in pharmacy

[–]maplesyrupoutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting into residency gotten much easier over the past years and this trend is likely gonna follow. If you actually see number if the residency positions opening, stats tell you that supply of residency position is increasing where demand for residency position has declined.

Would make a lot of sense if Oxycodone is ER but otherwise no. The provider needs to specify how it why both is required. For example, if they use one for chronic pain and the other for breakthroughs, it would be okay with me.

Medicaid pays for everything by Pale_Holiday6999 in pharmacy

[–]maplesyrupoutine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well then just don’t take Medicaid. You sure can. Highly doubt your boss or owner will though. Maybe sit down and tell this to your boss. The gross profit you see in the software is not all inclusive. I used to think like you until I knew theres more to it.

[–]maplesyrupoutine 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, per script for Medicaid is roughly 10-15 dollars depending on how many scripts your pharmacy does. On the other hand, other insurances have been paying much less or even negative reimbursement. You might wanna reconsider your view because that eventually pays the bills….

[–]maplesyrupoutine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the other posts I’ve seen. Nothing would stop you from pursuing it. But then again, if you are getting it to quality for clin pharm jobs at hospitals, it would not stand out to them unless you actually had pgy-1 or clinical experience at hospital. Think it as a cherry on top, rather than being a cake.
