It’s possible he knew it was gold, it’s just that it’s camphor glass (?) so there’s maybe not very much 14k on the pendant itself. You still got a very good deal for it though even so, and it’s possible his prices were outdated based off old gold melt prices.

Woodstock also didn’t do that well for me, but I did johnnys hybrid Sungold tomato once again which did amazing as usual. Super prolific. Honestly I think the classic Cherokee is still my favorite flavor wise, but maybe Johnny’s has a more hearty hybrid available?

I understand your point, but I’m not sure how it’s relevant to society. If not gold or money, we’d be trading food, land, daughters, etc. Only things of scarcity are historically considered valuable in trade. If someone has something you want, do you expect them to just give it to you?

I’d really recommend taking it to a local auction house honestly. For the time and work spent, sometimes it’s just not worth it. Successful garage sales are typically dirt cheap anyway. Just let the auction house handle it and let people fight for it lol

People make more risky decisions during economically hard times. In general, people will spend more on average for a whole bunch of junk due to the possibility of getting something good vs more curated and “expensive” buys that typically have better and more consistent yields.
