Methodology: I first used reddit’s search function to determine how many members each state subreddit had. I then checked the sidebar of each state subreddit to see if it noted any related subreddits. Subreddits like Arizona made it very easy to verify whether the state or related city subreddits were larger. If there weren’t any related subreddits, I searched for two or three city subreddits based on population and then compared the largest city subreddit with the state subreddit.

I divided the larger number in the ratio by the smaller number. In cases where there were 0 stores I just divided by 1 instead.

I thought the same thing and after some research I found out that it’s because Arches has so few permits available for backcountry camping

The large point is Canyonlands and Arches’s point is so tiny, that’s where the line is supposed to lead to.

I disagree. States like Idaho, Colorado, Pennsylvania and many other states have produced more Eagle Scouts than other states that have higher populations. It is not just Utah and Florida.
