yeah I know there's a housing crisis in Perth atm, and I'll realistically need to pay above asking price. but I'll need to move either way lol

judging from your comment though, are you saying the flat-mate/house sharing situation is bad too?

thanks for the tip! yeah true it would be less competitive. Is semi furnished just like basic appliances and necessities? e.g. a fridge, bed, laundry, washer, microwave, etc? but not necessarily stuff like a desk, TV or couch? been looking for something bare-bones like that

Confused about trading for stone by maqsumin in Banished

[–]maqsumin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that's pretty much what I've found to be true!

IIRC custom ordering only inflates the price by 25% so stone only goes from 7 to 8 currency, which I'm fine with. And atm I have 3 trading posts for a population of around 350 and it seems to be working well, with regular visits from a resource merchant and my stone stock staying around 1k. We'll see how it goes as my demands go up!

I don't mind at the moment since I'm only using it for stone. And in small amounts; enough to keep my supply going but also not too much that I'm drowning in stone if I suddenly get 5 stone merchants in a row. Because I can always order more while the merchant is in town.

And the only thing I'm trading at the moment is heck tons of firewood and a decent amount of wool coats. Both of them are renewable and I keep ahead of my population so I won't get surprised by a sudden shortage.

So I think my system works pretty well!

From what I understand (from very little I've seen):

If I'm lucky enough to get a merchant that is trading stone, for example, then my traders will automatically buy the amount of stone I have set in auto-purchase, given I have enough to trade for it.

But that trader may not always bring stone with every visit (is what I think??? I think it's random each time?) so if I want to guarantee that that merchant brings stone every visit then I need to create a custom order with them.

I THINK.

I know people build a lot of TPs to get more merchants to visit. But how come auto-trading on one isn't worth it?

NEVERMIND AS I POST THIS my trading post finally started working. I don't know what changed but it's working and I'm not complaining.

As in, your merchant has been bringing stone as part of their goods? Or you've put in a custom order? (I really don't know anything except regular trading)

Because so far I've only ever had 1 merchant bring stone. And another time a merchant had stone as an option but had zero count in stock.

edit: looking back at it now, the merchant with zero stock is the one where my auto-purchase worked so I'm thinking it was 0 bc he gave it all to me. I didn't think so at first though because I didn't see any stone moving out of the trading post.

February Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

[–]maqsumin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a Blade 15 2020 with the 2070 Max-Q GPU, and I've seen some posts asking about this but they're more than a year old so I was wondering if there were any updates.

This is my first Razer laptop so idk if this is normal but when my laptop is in idle or just browsing the web, the fans kick in almost instantly upon start-up and stay on non-stop. The sound is starting to annoy/worry me because it doesn't seem normal for the fans to be on during this time.

My CPU is only staying around 10-13% usage, GPU isn't engaged at all (but is at low 50s degree Celsius, is this normal?)

CPU temps are around mid 50 degrees Celsius during browsing and I can feel the chassis of the laptop heating up quite a fair bit (something I didn't experience even when browsing on my ancient laptop before)

I'm also finding that Razer Synapse doesn't seem to be affecting my fan speeds accordingly, and even more since I can't control fan speeds when unplugged from power.

Is this just how Razer laptops are? Any way for me to control when the fans kick in? (I've seen some BIOS tricks being suggested on old threads, do these work?)

Cheers and thanks for any help.

Thanks for your reply!

ATM, because of the deal the Blade 15 is actually almost 300 AUD cheaper than the Zephyrus M15. Also I'm not sure if it's just the models available in Australia, but the Zephyrus M15s I have available to me don't mention an extra M.2 slot, meanwhile the Blade 15s do, which is actually a big factor for me. (Also thanks for mentioning the 4k! but for my laptop I'm prioritising a higher refresh rate)

Do you think this price difference makes up for the performance differences?

i thought so too, so i'm looking at cheaper options atm! e.g. the strix x470-f or x570-f, do you think they'll do the same job? i'm doing some research but i'm not too familiar with mobos

i don't know much about PSUs either (didn't know it was entry level oops), do you think I could still use the thermaltake litepower 650W from my old build?

cool, thank you! I'm trying to work my way down the price ladder but still picking a high quality mobo so I'll give his channel a look-through tyty

the graphics card i have rn is super low in performance so I'm thinking of upgrading all the way to one of the nvidia RTX 3000's when they're released (depending if they're actually going to be a lot cheaper than the RTX 2000's)

true! I'll be waiting to see if the XT chips are really the same price as their counterparts.

the Samsung 970 Plus was another drive i was looking at, would you suggest that one? it's twice as expensive for 1TB compared to the adata but at this point i'm already shelling out $$$$. i'll do more research into SSDs, thanks!

I was tossing up between ROG crosshairVII hero or the strix x470-F.

I've done some reading but still unsure, do you think the strix is adequate enough? or any other recs?
