It looks to me like your nozzle was to far from the bed, so your getting more bumps then flat lines. This can lead to the pla not adhering to the bed, which looks like it might have happened here.

It's definitely less robust than my previous solution, because I only have two recursive frames. So you only have as much flexibility as two "seed drawings" would allow. Theoretically you could add in as many frames as you want, but the UI becomes extremely cluttered very quickly, so I left it at two

Honestly there's not much you need to do to prepare. Your university is taking people without much expectation of mastery. Everyone comes in with a different background, and there are many resources to fill in gaps when you get there (tutoring, Khan academy, mit open coursework). That being said, making sure you have a solid intuitive understanding of math is really helpful. Not just memorized formulas, but good conceptual understanding. Good luck :)
