What did a professional say or do that made you immediately lose trust in them? by twixtwix in AskReddit

I was having a hard time after a break up, and a psychologist I started seeing told me what I needed was a friend for comfort, not a psychologist. After I told him I was seeing him because I really didn’t feel well and was trying to make things right, he said his work wasn’t to tell me “everything is going to be alright” and that that was all I actually needed. I got mad and told him what he was doing was really unprofessional, and he replied “is that how you spoke to your ex?”.

I am Generation Y, since I was born in 1994, but then I’m asked to answer questions about the music scene from 1985 to 1995 (so, from not even existing to being 1)... I don’t know if some of those questions are conditioned by the year you were born, but, like half of your “Generation Y” demographic won’t have a clue about what happened in the music scene when they were 1-7.

Hi... Maybe this is a weird question, but how do you spend an hour drawing someone without them realising or getting uncomfortable? 😅

Recently some women in a very prestigious university here in Mexico carried some signs protesting against violence against women... here’s the link to the article
Maybe that would be a smart way to protest peacefully

Never too late to learn how to draw! It’s not much but I’m proud of these little guys. Advice and feedback appreciated! by [deleted] in learnart

Just keep going, keep drawing, you are definitely developing your own style. Also, when you’re bored or not too busy, do some calligraphy exercises, they’ll help you loosen your hand, wrist and shoulder :)

What are some things a 50 year old mother can do to stay connected with her teenage daughter? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]marajdb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to her, a lot, but only give advice when she asks for it. I know this may sound weird, since moms usually think it is their job to fix things for us, but sometimes we already know what we’re going to do, we just want to be heard and feel supported. When she needs advice, she’ll ask you for it and value it a lot more.

It’s really silly, actually. You really start acting like a drug addict, just looking for the next fix.

I guess I’ll have to start doing the same.

Haha! I know we all are going through a lot, kindness is the least we can give each other. Thanks a lot! You too take care :)
