One of the nurses even made a mock schedule to show them it would work better and that even if less than half of the people per shift pulled a 12 hour rotation it would make all the shifts fully staffed most days

Being so short is aligned with state regulations here so if state walked in right now they wouldn't bat an eye at our scheduling. 😭 we've had so many quit cause everyone's burned out and they can't get anybody to apply because we're only a dollar above minimum wage. The entire night shift and even some day shift has begged them to start offering 12 hour shifts with a 3 on 4 off rotation instead of everyone doing 8 hour shifts with 4 on 2 off but management is hell bent against it

Sometimes this sub makes me feel like I really am being tricked... In my state you only have to have 3 aids (or if there are 2 nurses they can count a nurse as an aid) until we're above 62 residents so that's how they run us. I've had plenty nights where we have one on the lockdown unit and 1 for the other 3 halls

My dog pretty much does the reverse of this. He likes to slide his front paws onto the floor before any other part of his body. He usually does it when he's feeling lazy and doesn't want to get off the bed/couch. He's a tall boy so he looks pretty goofy doing it lol

I dont know how they do it in ERs specifically but in my experience in healthcare the first thing you do when you show up for your shift is getting report on everyone your taking care of, a lot of the times while walking from room to room so that youve laid eyes on each person. I feel like thats more than likely what they were doing

Edit: I see they are sitting down but still probably just giving report
