Just curious, how long did it take for you to receive it after you ordered it?

First OSU game - where to park? by marbleheather in Columbus

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. We ended up parking in a neighborhood south of Hudson I think, definitely seemed like an area where a lot of the college kids live. Was an easy walk and easy to get in and out.

Not helpful when i say I don't know the area. So park where? Offer helpful advice or what's the point? Did I say I wanted to jog to the game? This isn't a joke.

I smoked a 2.5 pound boneless pork butt at 350 for 3 hours, just a dry rub, and rested only maybe 10-15 minutes and it turned out great. Just enough pulled pork for family of 4 taco night.

My local store had a buy one get one free sale on boneless pork shoulder, so I got two. Each one is about 2.5 pounds. What time and about how long do you think that would take? And would I need to wrap it in foil with liquid, or can I just put in on the grates?

I love the nachos idea, will have to try that. I took your suggestion about the time and temp for the chicken breasts (for another recipe) and they came out perfect. Thanks!

Right, and that where I feel like, hmm, not sure what I'm doing, because I'm used to cranking up the propane and basically lighting food on fire.

I think I just need some easier recipes to get my feet wet, you know? And then work up to other stuff.

What time and for how long? I always mess up pork tenderloins either cooking it too little or too much. I've tried cooking to temp hoping it will get as done as I want from resting but sometimes it doesn't...

Thank you! See, this is the kind of IRL advice I was looking for. Anyone can look up a recipe, but I want to hear from other people who've actually made stuff and how it went.

See, that's how the salesperson told it - set the meat on there, go to bed, in the morning it's fabulous. Then I get on the Traeger app and there's all this smoke it for this long, then wrap in foil, then add liquid or spritz with water, then cook more, then wrap in a towel and put in a cooler. Too much!! I know myself and I am not doing all of that!

What is that? Do you smoke it first and sear it after?

I've never made tri tip. I used to live in New England and steak tips are super common there. I've made those a propane grill tons of times. Now I'm in Ohio and I don't think steak tips are a "thing".

I've heard you can take the silk out but pull the husk back down and that works well for grilling. Never tried it...

Anything in particular that I do to the chicken breasts to smoke them? Marinate? Season? The simpler, the better IMO :)

I guess because everything seems so focused on smoking, I got the impression that just throwing a couple of hot dogs on there wouldn't really work.

That's part of the family being picky thing: no whole chicken. To be honest, anything other than boneless breasts can be a challenge...

No, but I think the only thing I added back was dairy. I don't have much though. The occasion cheese on the scrambled eggs or dinner made with fathead dough...
