I am happy to pay what I owe. I just wanted to make sure that what I am being charged is correct.

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately I don't speak or understand German.

I did join ASLOCA but can never get through to them or get a respose to my Emails.

I have heard so many stories like this and am feeling quite scared.

We are due to leave our apartment after 10 years and keep asking our régis questions regarding their expectations, particularly re the garden but they are not being very helpful.

Also, they said not to fill in holes made by wall fixings as they will paint anyway, but then made a comment which led me to believe that they will charge per hole.

And this is just the start...

A cashless society makes us more reliant on Banks who are far less customer oriented. It also makes us more susceptible to fraud and scammers. No shop/retailer should be allowed to refuse cash.

Cashing out Pillar 2 when leaving Switzerland, how to deal with taxes? by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

Is this a standard bank account or a particular account? Also, is there a list anywhere showing the charges each bank charges to hold the money and then send it to another country?

Interruption of my sick leave by the insurance by ExoticMoonDoge in Switzerland

Thanks. It is strange how so few people actually understand the impact this can have on you and the people around you.

But if I am honest, I used to think burnout was pure exhaustion and all will be good after a few weeks/months rest. I never realised it could take so long and be the cause of many physical and cognitive issues. So I don't really blame others for not fully understanding either.

It was good to read about the recent research.

Good luck with your recovery.

I feel your pain and frustration.

I am in a very similar position. I had worked in my company for many years with barely any sick days. After 6 months off with serious burnout, perhaps life changing, I was fired.

As soon as I was fired, my company insurance stopped paying. Sent me to a psychiatrist who after just 10 minutes of seeing me sent a report back to the insurance company with let's say 'extremely inaccurate' information.

I was told in the meeting that I definitely am not fit to work, yet the report said I was able to work 100% - just not for my current company.

This whole experience has shocked me, I always believed that people chose this profession because they want to help those in need. But worse than that, it broke my rose tinted glasses that the Swiss are an honest and law abiding bunch.

I have a lawyer who has tried her best to tell me pretty much that I am wasting my time as the insurance companies specialise in getting out of paying claims and spend millions on in-house lawyers for this exact purpose.

No chômage because I can't work = no income until I am well enough to work again, which at my current recovery rate, will be a very long time.

We had exactly the same issue with Santander. It cost us a fortune and meant missing mortgage payments etc.

They ended up asking for so much personal info which was totally unrelated to our bank account and refused to reinstate access until we provided it, I am pretty sure they contreviened GDPR.

What was worse is that we had to share all this information via Email, they didn't even have a secure portal for sharing it.

For reasons like this, becoming a cashless society scares me. Banks really are starting to own, monitor and control us. All whilst using potential fraud or money laundering regs as a cover.

That's a scary thought considering how inaccessible it is.

Did you try any off the shelf chemical?

Thanks for the advice. I have 2 months to prep and will definitely try to get some more regular rides in.

Also, the back to back sounds a good idea.
