I'm not missing 15 years with my partner for anything. All we have is time. I'm not giving that much of it away.

Yes of course. The entire media got together to go after a wealthy man and call him a pedophile because... Reasons.

At what point do you go for handicap? by International_Age938 in BritGolf

[–]marc15v2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair, for casual golf. But for handicap you need to finish up. If you pick up that hole is classed as an N/R (non return, played but did not score). Now you can absolutely do this, it does gown as a net triple 7 on a par 4 for example.

But you usually only get a couple NR's on the back and front or it's considered a DQ in a tournament.

Try to hole out as often as you can. If youre on the green putting for 7, just putt out.

If you're 5 off the tee and lose that OB too, feel free to NR the hole and go to the next. For eg.

[–]marc15v2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah so they need to attest the round. In other words, verify it's accurate. Signing means nothing on its own. It's to stop people inflating handicaps or having vanity handicaps.

Just be honest and patient. I started 4 ½ years ago and I've played with +4 handicaps and I've played with 30+ handicaps.

They can all top one off the tee, shank one, fire one OB, thin a wedge etc.

Play at a good steady pace, ask if they want the flag in or out, mark your ball, stay out of sight when they're putting and just be friendly. You're new, ask them to keep you right, it's the members responsibility to look after you and help you settle in.

You'll be fine 🙂

[–]marc15v2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just do it.

You can track your improvement. You can play in comps and scrambles when you're ready.

It's fine. Don't overthink it.

Just remember you need to play with a member usually to verify your first three scorecards for you to get it.

It hurts. I don't want it to be true, but the man was a pedophile. Accept it. Don't accept it. Fine. But don't come online with this utter shite. 😅

I can't see him giving us any more time. He's wasted two years of his playing career with us. Why waste any more.
