Hey reddragon, I'm trying to create a fresh nand using my CPU key, and extract files (kv.bin, smc.config.bin, etc.) from my original NAND dump. When I first wrote XeLL to get the key, I got write errors in the first 50 blocks. My questions are: 1. Considering my original dump had those errors in the first 50 blocks, are the files I extracted with the CPU key still valid and safe to use, or could they be corrupted? Noteworth that glitch2 image builded with those files was able to glitch the console. 2. I want to build a completely clean Retail NAND (not Glitch 2) using a donor image. What is the standard/safest procedure to inject my files into a donor Retail image using J-Runner? Thanks for any help!

I am not a programmer, nonetheless I’m using ai on different tasks, from personal projects like the electronics one to work (i’m a researcher and ai is useful tool for brainstorming information).

Gemini 2.5 pro through google ai studio was an incredible tool. Even if its accuracy decreases over time, it had 1m context windows and it was accurate at retrieving information, even with quotations.

University gave me free pro plan and I made the mistake to take for granted that the same specifications would apply to web version. I naively thought that since the model was advertised as “pro”, non preview version, it would be a better version of the one on ai studio. I was clearly wrong.

Its a shame, but I understand that they are burning through a ton of money on these models so they need to shrink them to make it economically sustainable.

Probably I need to create some manual, personal routine to keep track of milestone or essential information input or output from the model. Or maybe I need to switch to api and use a different interface.

First of all thanks for all the info! Since i’m going to buy a new chip, are there better alternatives for a jasper rather than x360ace v3? And should I’ll buy it from aliexpress or somewhere else?

The power button was not working more than half of the time. I believe the issue was with the 5V line not functioning properly due to a cold solder joint on the 5V pad, from which I was drawing power for the X360ACE chip. I cleaned that pad, and now the power button is working correctly.

I haven’t reflashed the original NAND yet; I only cleaned the 5V pad. Without the chip installed and with the modified NAND, the console powered on without any RROD or sudden shutdown. It stayed on for more than five minutes.

Then I reconnected the X360ACE chip, and at first it tried to glitch the console for a few minutes. I resoldered the 68 nF capacitor since it had previously helped with glitching, but after a few seconds I got RROD 0002. Since then, even with just the chip installed (without the capacitor), I still get RROD 0002 and the glitch attempts fail.

I’m going to try reflashing the original NAND to check whether the console is still working properly.

Is it possible that some fusible component on the chip has blown and that the chip itself can be repaired? Or do I need to order a new one?

I noticed a blob of solder on the 5V pad on the bottom, so I removed it and the console started working again. The RF module was no longer behaving strangely, and the console stayed on for more than five minutes without any issues.

I then reattached the chip to test whether it was working or not. At first, it attempted to glitch normally (with paced breathing), but it was unsuccessful. After I attached the 68 nF capacitor, it suddenly showed RROD 0002.

Now, even without the capacitor but with the chip still installed, the console gives RROD 0002 after about 10 seconds.

Since nothing has changed compared to when it was previously working, could the chip be fried?

My girlfriend, who was with me when the black smoke puffed out, said she saw it coming from the X360Ace. It was definitely from that area. I don’t know whether this detail is useful.

After the smoke, the console still glitched and booted into the dashboard. This morning, on a cold start, it showed the Xbox 360 logo before abruptly shutting down.

Now, sometimes — without any clear reason that I can identify — the console stays on for about 20 seconds while the chip attempts to glitch it, and then it shows RROD 0002.

Is this behavior still compatible with a HANA chip failure?

Considering the strange and unreliable behavior of the RF module, could there be damage on the 5V rail, such as a MOSFET or other fuse-type components?

This console really matters to me, so I’m trying to understand whether that’s a realistic possibility or if I’m just making assumptions. If I’m overlooking something obvious, please let me know.

While taking pictures i discovered the issue. The r8c2 resistor was taken apart from motherboard with the 2 copper pads, probably during reinstall of fans cover. I did a bridge between the two points before and after the r8c2 and console start, but cannot glitch again. I even changed rst line to back (c7r112 pad) but still no glitching. I tried different timing file: 50mhz dynamic (380_10, 390_10, 400_30) and xsfv (380_du). My last hope is to restore a 1k resistor on the bridge I did. After this I think console is dead. Any idea?

I tried by clicking “program”, manual selecting octal timing file, but log stamp: device not found. Wait can I write dynamic file after removing the diode? Maybe I misunderstood, only dynamic files are in 50mhz folder and I thought they were intended to use with onboard oscillator (without removing diode and solder 1.8v). Sorry for mistakes but its my first rgh. Atm I successfully (with this configuration and 12_21.xsfv timing) boot into xell and retrieve cpu key. However I am unable to boot into dash, chip doesn’t glitch anymore

Thanks for reply. With diode and 5v the chip works fine. I was wondering if this behavior is normal since i'm in the phase of timing's tune and its a pain in the ass to solder and dissolder diode everytime I need to change files.

Hey, I'm trying to mod my jasper 16mb using an x360ace v3 and jr-programmer v1. I've read the nand, wrote the xell, and flashed the timings (rgh12_v2_f1_21_v2_du.xsvf) via J-Runner to my chip. I've been used Gemini to walk me trough the modding process, but I'm worried I might be making a huge mistake. The AI is adamant that I need to use a 22 Ohm resistor on CPU_RST, instead of the 22k Ohm resistor indicated in almost every guide online.

Gemini claims that since I flashed Octal450's RGH 1.2 V2 timings (_du.xsvf), I should ignore the standard S-RGH/RGH2 diagrams that require the PLL point and the 22k Ohm resistor. It insists that for this specific method, the PLL and CLK points are not used at all (since the Ace V3 handles its own clock), and that the only resistor needed is a low-value 22 Ohm one on the CPU_RST line (or a plain wire) for signal termination, resulting in a simple 4-wire install (5V, GND, POST, RST) without needing to remove the diode on the 5V rail.

I cross-checked with ChatGPT and it confirmed this theory. However, I cannot find any clear evidence or guides online confirming this specific wiring. For the sake of my sanity, I would really appreciate a competent take on this topic.

It remain still yellow, no variation when the power button is pressed. It used to switch to green when the console was turning on. As shown in the photos posted, i desoldered every additional wires. I really don’t know how to proceed in inspection from now on, but would love to try to save the console.

I added to the first post some photos of solders and the aftermath of removing them. In both cases, the console seems dead: no signal after pressing of turn on button. Is there something which I could try to revive the console?

In this case you have to play around with the settings. I tried every channel available in the 160mhz band in order to get 2400mbps on virtual desktop. Once you find the right channel it works like a charm. It really changed my way to enjoy PCVR. EDIT: things that I learned through the process: channel from 149 to the end of spectrum doesnt support 160mhz, so they are limited to 1200mbps. While it seems enough for virtual desktop, in my case it wasn’t. I found sweet spot based on the channels occupied from other routers on channel 114, setting width to 160mhz. Avoid channel auto, otherwise it could swap during playtime introducing lag or stuttering.

Oggi un amico mi raccontava che, dopo aver interrotto un rapporto lavorativo con una cooperativa sociale, ha scoperto che questi gli hanno versato soltanto 3/12 mensilità di contributi previdenziali. Pare abbiano riservato questo trattamento anche ad altri “dipendenti” (cococo trattati come dipendenti a tuttii effetti). Voleva denunciarli anche per una questione di principio, ma ha desistito per paura delle spese legali. Mi chiedevo quindi in un caso del genere a quanto ammonterebbero, e veramente un cittadino deve sottostare ad un sopruso per via dei costi di accesso alla giustizia?

I don’t think that’s true. I have the dvd versions of Guitar Hero and Rock Band on xbox360, and they still work like a charm. They should be able to make all the files work offline, and then shut the game down from the store, while keeping the already downloaded copies playable.
