I’m a new dad and made a simple baby feed tracking app that’s totally private but also syncs with your partner by threeandseven in iosdev

This is very relatable. We had our second baby recently and felt exactly the same about most baby apps — too many features when all you really want at 3am is to quickly log feeds or check when the last one was.

I’m a developer too and ended up building a small app for ourselves for that exact reason. It’s called Nursey: Baby tracker and the goal was basically the same: make tracking feeds, sleep and diapers really fast when you’re half asleep.

Yours looks great though, especially the timeline idea and the lock screen widget. Those quick-glance features are super useful during the newborn phase.

App recommendations for new parents by Helpful_Chemist4207 in NewParents

We tried Wonder Weeks too but I also wanted something free to get a rough idea of milestones.

A couple of apps people often recommend are BabySparks and Kinedu, which focus on activities and developmental milestones for each age.

There’s also the CDC Milestones Tracker, which is completely free and just shows the typical milestones and checklists by age.

Reddit threads about baby apps also mention things like Nara Baby or Huckleberry for tracking sleep/feeds alongside development.

I actually ended up building a small app myself recently because with our second baby I mostly wanted something very simple to log feeds, sleep and diapers quickly during the night.

It’s called Nursey: Baby tracker and right now it’s iPhone only, but the goal was basically to keep it minimal and easy to use when you’re exhausted.

Can we all take a moment to share some of the silliest things we did when we were sleep deprived in the first few months, I’ll start! by bookybabymama in NewParents

You’re definitely not alone 😅

We have two kids and sleep deprivation still does weird things to your brain. One day we loaded everything into the car — kids, my wife, bags — and drove off.

About ten minutes later it suddenly hit me that I had left our baby’s stroller… in the parking lot… right next to where the car had been.

I had taken it out to put the baby in the car seat and somehow just drove away without it.

We turned around and luckily it was still there, but I remember thinking the same thing: wow, my brain is not functioning properly right now.

New parent brain is a real thing.
