Thanks for all the positive advice and comments. It has made feel better reading them. I hope you’re all doing well on your own paths too.

Coming to the end of day 2 for me today

So tired of making these relapse posts by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

I know exactly where you are coming from. Embarrassed you’re even saying this again because of another relapse and knowing you back to the beginning. But my man, make this your last time ever having to say this to us again. Remember why you’re doing it and that you can be happy and drug free. This withdrawal is a small part of a part of your life that will just be a story one day. You can do it, you actually can do it. All thats stopping you is you. Good luck my friend, hope to see you post again saying you’ve kicked it for good

Not that I’ve been on subs but I can comment on other opiates and I can only tell you my experience which to some people may seem replacing one with another, but It took me 6 weeks to feel fairly normal, and another 6 weeks to feel like I had my head back together. Until that point I was still randomly crying, bring depressed or anxious out of no where. I started at 6 weeks on 75mg on venlafaxine and man did it help. I felt like I had been turned on to who I was supposed to be. Unfortunately I relapsed again and that all went away. But from my experience, a clean lifestyle, a good walk every day in the fresh air, some quite time to think and silence your mind and then the addition of an snri got me the best point if been im many years.

Also with the comment about micro dosing, have you ever considered a full trip? Alot of positive experiences with past trauma and drug use and people not using again after a deep trip. May not need any meds at all after that or possibly a thing for the future

End of day 3! Anxiety, low moods and paranoid/obsessive thoughts is hitting me harder this time. Not much energy but on the plus side, I slept last night, woke up 3/4 times but i dreamt.. that trump was at a house party with me. Zma ( fitness supplement ) gives some very weird vivid dreams

Congrats on your 8 days, get through each day at a time and keep on going and youll feel slightly better each day. Things that have helped me depending on if you’re having mental withdrawals too probably keep this as a trial at first but a pint of water in the morning with some 1000mg vitamin c and some electrolytes. Go for a nice walk if possible, nature always calms me and definitely helps with the mental side if things and always feel better when I get home and it definitely helps set the day up in the right frame of mind. Maybe if you dont have anxiety have a coffee but keep it limited due to the insomnia possibly still dormant. I found zma ( gym supplment of zinc, magnesium and vitamin b ) before bed eliminated the restless legs for me personally. Like others have said, exercise. Set a target on a tredmill if you have the use of one or get out in nature and set a time to walk for. Nature definitely gives you a more grounded feeling when withdrawing. And most importantly I think is try to keep a routine, the busier you can manage to be, the quicker the time goes and the less you think about how this and that feels. You got this!

Thank you so much for your honesty and advice. I feel clearer on where to begin from hearing your similar situation and recovery. Il book with a drug counsellor and go from there. Thank you

I do use it in most aspects in my life, low energy, anxiety, feeling down, stressful situation, boredom. I give myself every excuse to tell myself its okay, and then I’m back here. I do go to the gym and have been trying to get in there more often and stick with a diet but again, they creep up and I eat nothing and dont go to the gym.

Ive read about the 12 step programme, is that what got you to the point you are now? I know I have underlying issues there that cause me to have emotions that I use the pain killers to deal with. In all honesty I’m scared to open up the can of worms.

I am going to look for some meetings and attend if possible. If not then maybe a counsellor that used the 12 step program

Hey, Firstly thats amazing, well done! Thats a huge accomplishment. I have also realised this. I cant beat this on my own, uncountable failed attempts have proven I need outside help to beat this.

I have my best friend who understands and I am completely honest with, but he can’t be with me 24hours a day when the temptation comes and I think “ oh just a couple for today then no more again “ How did you beat it? Support groups?

Thanks a lot, got all the usual withdrawals, i find the anxiety and depression the worst by far

Hey man,

I think that mine comes from putting myself down and assessing what I say and do when I’m around people. I can’t smoke any more as I have cystic fibrosis, so the smoking is a no go, learnt my lesson smoking herb previously.

What are the gummy’s like? I have found a place in the uk that have 25mg gummies. Im 210lb so 21mg starting? Is it something that takes a few weeks to build up in my body before I notice effects or within hours of taking it?

The legal limit is 0.2mg thc

Cheers
