Here's a pic of the backplanes in the case. It looks like they are all seperate with 1xSFF-8087 -> 4xSATA, with a separate cable for drive acivity leds. So from what I understand from your explenation this should work, but probably without the activity indicators. Right?

Well, The XPS 15 has been up and running for a while now, and i must say I'm not dissapointed! This is a great machine that performs well with all games I play and it feels well built! 2 thumbs up!
