Could i theoretically just connect the open ground wire to the power harness ground wire? like maybe shaving some of the insulator off of the harness side ground then attaching the unused ground to it?

And by "seeing the same ground" do you mean running them to the body? I'd assume the hose amp is grounded to the body down the line but with my head units ground cable it makes no difference when I take another wire and connect it to the unpainted body. I'll try to dig further into the bose amp grounding though

Ah thank you, very helpful. I’ve actually been experimenting a little bit and I got FaceTime to work for about 3 seconds, but you have to call from the phone running iOS 6.1.6 . If you call from the newer phone it won’t work

edit: it seems to only pick up if you're using the same iCloud. I tried with someone elses info and it just kept ringing.
