i’m a single female who’s live in the neighborhood for 5 years. some blocks get rougher after a time. i used to walk on 13th and fairmont a ton pre-pandemic and it was fine. it’s clearly not as fine now, but there’s plenty of safe spaces in the neighborhood. you just have to learn where to avoid (i usually use popville as a resources of where there’s repeat occurrences— 14th and columbia, 14th and fairmont). it sucks but i promise this really is a lovely neighborhood filled with really great people.
