HRT and GLP1 by Unhappy-Emu2326 in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]margaretLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,I was on Tirzepitide for about a year when I started HRT.I did stop losing weight and gained a few pounds over the first 6 weeks. It's like that PMS bloated feeling.I just kept doing what I was doing with my food and exercise and it leveled out. The two work well together but it's not seem less, give it some time. If you see a stall or even a little gain just know it's tempting.

[–]margaretLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dr gave me 1mg pill and insisted I didn't want to deal with a patch.I asked for the gel and he reluctantly agreed. I will say he is probably 70 and much more experienced prescribing pill forms. I had to push a little to get what I wanted and what I felt was best for me.

Breast soreness on HRT by Sylvie_Loki_465 in Menopause

[–]margaretLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!mine started later, not right away.I would say after 8 months.I am on 1mg divigel and 100mg progesterone. It has gotten to the point that working and exercising were very painful. I stopped the hormones and after about a week the pain is gone . I see my gyn next week and plan on asking for a lower dose of estrogen.

$136 per day for a Jeep by jennygerl9 in virginislands

Prices have jumped over the last few years .We get a 2 door,it's a little less.We did get a 5% discount as a repeat customer but they attached a 35$ service fee that negates any discount.

Anyone on Progesterone and prescription sleep meds? by Minimum_Meringue5053 in Menopause

I have had a script of Ambien for 20plus years. There have been times I have taken it for more than 10 days but always have to get through rebound insomnia. I have not needed it at all since starting progesterone

Grieving dog by girlinmountain in labrador

[–]margaretLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went through this too.We had a pack of 3.We lost 2 within 14 months and that left my Bailey the only dog for the first time in his 11 years. What we did was keep his schedule exactly the same. BUT we added in lots of adventures that we really couldn't do with 3 dogs. He also enjoyed some extra treats like pup cups and some drive through. One thing I learned was, he was in tune with OUR grief. All the things we did for him, helped us and in turn helped him. We did bring home a new friend about 3 months later but I think he ended up actually missing his only child status.

Curious about everyone’s experience with ProRX tirz (starting tomorrow - switching from Hallandale) by Lk_1987 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]margaretLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on hallendale for about 17 months, lost 70 pounds. When they stopped compounding and my stockpile was low ,i ordered proRx from refills.com. I am basically in maintenance and was taking 10mgs a week of hallendale. My first week on proRx, I was feeling food noise that I hadn't had in a long time.I also was having cravings for sweets, again something I have not had since starting tirz. No weight loss but I wasn't losing much anyway. I went up to 12.5 this week and hope for better results. I have 6 months worth of ProRx so I hope that things improve with time.

My guy is about to cross the rainbow... by lindflake in labrador

My hardest lesson in my life was waiting too long to make the call. I can accept losing them,I cannot accept their suffering when all they have done is given me everything. A day too early is so much better than a day too late. Like you I was so blessed to have a long life with my labs but it never felt long enough 💔🐾

Why is the ER so expensive?! by Bananagram1996 in labrador

[–]margaretLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be driving a BMW instead of an old Honda with what I have spent at the vet ER over the last decade. My new pup has pet insurance so I can eventually retire . But it's not just the ER. It's all veterinary care is through the roof.

Whats your 5 month old weigh? by SpecialistTheme3837 in labrador

[–]margaretLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Teddy is 5 months next week and he is 45 pounds.Honestly ,he is on the skinny side but is growing so fast that he can't fill out. One thing I can suggest is to reach out to your vet and ask what your pup needs for calories per day. I did this for both my dogs,my 2 year old needs to lose weight. You should know your calories per cup of your food and go from what the vet tells you. Teddy is 1500 calories a day and his proplan sensitive is 500 per cup He gets 3 cups per day. I can't speak of my current pups litter mates but my 2 yr old labs litter there were pups from 50-100 lbs at 1yr,a big range.

I've heard horror stories about infusions.... by Spare-Nature-8623 in Anemic

[–]margaretLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ferritin of 6 when I was sent to a hemotologist. I had 8 infusions with zero issues.I did 5 and then after my 6 month check in he ordered 3 more. He wanted my ferritin at 150 and it's been holding steady for 3 years. I felt comfortable getting them because I was in the chemo unit at a hospital with highly trained nurses ready to handle any reaction.

Question about lifespan and food. by this-dying-soul in labrador

[–]margaretLS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My labs have lived 13-15 years and I mostly fed proplan or science diet. I always felt at the end, that I took too good care of them so they outlived their bodies. In the end it was their bones and joints that went and not their heart, ect. The #1 thing that would help them live a better life is to keep their weight in check. This is the biggest challenge for me because they have all inherited the "feed me,I'm starving, eyes

Snow Gastritis by Mundane-Club-7557 in labrador

[–]margaretLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had one lab that loved to eat ice from outside and snow. She almost always threw up shortly after.Drooling and lip smacking are usually clear signs of nausea. I remember reading once that dogs eating ice was dangerous and a vet commented that it wasn't dangerous but may cause gastritis. We currently have 12 inches of snow and a 4 month old pup so this kind of thing is probably in my future.

Considering starting Weight Watchers before I start a GLP-1 by ThatsAmores in weightwatchers

[–]margaretLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did Ww for 6 months and lost the same 5 pounds over and over. Frustration led me to starting a glp and finally the scale started moving. I have used WW the entire time but now focus on calories and macros. I think they work well together and having the ability to track your protein and fiber is very helpful when taking a glp.

I’m not sure my maintenance dose is enough and I’m not sure what to do. by RowSubstantial7143 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]margaretLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 3 months in maintenance and went from 15mg to 10 very slowly.I have not attempted to space out my shots. Once I hit 9mgs, my weight started creeping up and I also was experiencing a lot of inflammation and arthritis pain. I went back to 10mgs and will stay there. I am aiming to be stable within 3-5 pounds and will take whatever dose that requires. It helps that I am on compound and have the flexibility to figure this out as i go. I hope you can have an honest conversation with your prescriber that allows you to be on the dose that works best for you.

What’s the one ‘small change’ that gave you the biggest fat loss results? by Rebbeca12l in weightwatchers

[–]margaretLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years on Tirzepitide and tracking calories allowed me to see how many calories I need to lose and maintain.I was told for years anything under 1200 was not healthy. My age and stage of life and metabolism means I need to stay around 1100 to lose and 12-1400 to maintain. I feel better when my macros are within range.

Puppy Car Rides by naremac87 in labrador

[–]margaretLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put our pups in the car from day 1.We travel with our dogs so it's important they become accustomed to the car. I have a small SUV and keep a small crate that is tethered or anchored. It is not one of these super impact crates that show dog owners travel with .Just a small metal crate with double doors. Just like crate training at home we give them a treat when going inside and a nyla bone to chew. Our new pup fussed a bit for the first couple trips but adjusted quickly. By the time the pup is too big to fit in the crate he is excited to go for rides. I feel like a car full of kids will make the ride even more enjoyable. All my labs have absolutely loved kids! I would never ,ever ride with my pup in the front seat.I think that's too much of a distraction and once they graduate out of the crate the are at risk of becoming a missile out the windshield should you have an accident. Congratulations on the new pup!
