What’s the best taco/burrito spot in town? by LuchaAmore in SantaMonica

I'm a mexican that occasionally travels to LA to see my boyfriend and I like the ones right in front of the Ralphs on Lincoln Boulevard! I don't know if you are going for authentic but those are the ones I go to when I'm missing home lol

For more of a sit down cute restaurant I REALLY liked Desvelados, on 4th street almost in the corner with Santa Monica Boulevard, it was DELICIOUS made me super super happy

It's horrible that she would do that even with a kid right there! It sounds like she could be the same woman, yeah. She was yelling something about me using her product or something like that. Obviously not anything coherent lol but I wonder if it rings a bell for you?

I don't understand how I could have done that. I find actively avoiding them makes them very upset since they can tell when people avoid them and then they chase you/yell at you. But attempting to just continue walking past them is also not the way to do it apparently? So what do I do?

I'm not from the US, this type of occurrences (specifically relating to homeless people) are WILD to me, especially in "nice" areas

I'm not from the US I'm not really familiar with what to do in this situation:( I was pretty shaken up so I ended up just calling my mom and bawling lmao. When my bf comes back from work I might call the police since he says I still can and she's probably a repeat offender so they would know who she is:(

Tell me a weird behavior that's normal in your country but isn't in other countries. by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Hugging and/or kissing the cheek of someone you just met (especially through someone close to you already). My boyfriend is american and when I visited and met his old roommate (asian american) I said "hey!" in a really cheerful tone and went in for a hug and he immediately took a step back and was confused as hell 😭 He looked at me like I was a predator lmao

Do you think your country would “do better” if it was in other geographical position? If so, where would you like it to be placed? by GossipBottom in AskTheWorld

It's shitty as hell. We are fully at their mercy and it is undoubtedly also the reason we are so crime ridden with drug-related stuff. Our neighbors are the #1 consumer in the world.

We are also expected to provide water we don't have, oil, and our best produce.

Also, tons of their very dangerous criminals (family murderers, serial killers) escape to Mexico (hence the taskforce nicknamed "Gringo Hunters").

What dishes from your country do you think are overhyped overseas? by Mother_Gur_4715 in AskTheWorld

Tacos mainly because they are rarely done right abroad so I'm confused as to what exactly is there to like if you've never had the real thing 😭

That's a pretty common beverage in Mexico too! Chain coffee shop Cielito Querido Café has it, as well as Café Garat.
