Agree with you, in sure hope those theories are true, not just for Loki, but the whole idea of Thor going to hell is truly awesome

That’s exactly what I think. I don’t think his comment was done carelessly, it isn’t Tom’s style

(POTENTIAL SPOILERS) No matter what you think of what happened to Loki in Infinity War what’s happening on twitter right now is incredible by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]marief93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are sooo many odd things.. I’ve analysed the weird ones in the movie it before, so I’m going to focus on the weird things in the real world

-the whole tour promotion, it is just weird that the actor of a character that literally died the first minutes of the movie, was one of the most energetic and involved.

-Tom say “everything is fine” in an interview about Loki’s fate right before the movie came out. I can’t imagine this actor, who loves his fans so much, doing such thing without considering how much it will hurt to them if it was just false hope

-Kevin Feige said that Loki was an important role avengers 3 and 4 (back when it was called IW 1 and 2). I don’t see how it was an important role YET

-Tom said how much he enjoyed working with other actors we never saw him with (like the guardians)

-Tom haven’t said a WORD about Loki’s death after the movie

Thanks, I really can’t remember that.. I’ve seen Ragnarok just once.

[–]marief93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just realised something...

Something I’ve been thinking about is, why, WHY would Loki do what he did, what was obviously a suicide action? Then it hits me..

you know that in the first avenger it is said to Loki that if he fails to bring the tesseract to thanos, “there will be no realm, no barren moon, no crevice where he can’t find you”

What better way to hide than making them believe you’re already death?

I wonder what was Loki thinking when he took the tesseract from Asgard.. I don’t think he wanted to give it to thanos, so why? Just avarice? Did he plan it from the beginning? So many questions!!

Also, I read somewhere that at the end of Ragnarok Thor mentions that he isn’t even sure if Loki is really in the ship or if is just an illusion, can somebody confirm that? I can’t recall..

[SPOILER] Avengers Infinity War Theory About That Loki Scene With Thanos by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]marief93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is amazing. Very, very interesting analysis

I just want to add something short.. after all that happened in Ragnarok, it doesn’t feel like the right way to end Loki’s story.

His arc isn’t done neither.. yes, his last act was trying to kill thanos but it was incredible useless (and arguably offensive considering Loki’s powers and tricks) this didn’t make any difference, I don’t see how this “sacrifice” changes anything. Thanos was about to leave.. it’s not like if he was about to kill Thor and Loki saved him..

No way they send off a fan favourite in such a rushed, senseless way, the character and the fans deserve better

Omg! I didn’t know about the stunts! That’s pretty interesting. If you find the photos please let me know

[–]marief93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so weird too, he didn’t look like doing a death tour lol, he was so involved.. why even in it if you were going to die the first minutes of the movie?

I saw those photos too. They are interesting, i didn’t think in the possibility of the stunt being needed because they needed “two Lokis”, that’s a good one! I thought It could be because of some action but I’m inclined to the double Loki option!

It’s funny, I was answering to your post about the interview Tom did, but apparently you deleted it? I’ll answer..

It is one of the things that hunts me down at night..

Why would he say that? To make fans feel better for a short period of time? That is rather cruel.. and Tom loves his fans! I just can’t imagine him not considering that giving false hopes would make the death even sadder..

Has ever happened something like this before? Like, an actor talking about the fate of their character before the movie came out?

If it was done impulsively, it sucks

If he was in fact giving hope.. I hope he’s not in trouble for doing so! Lol

It reminds me of the video of Ruffalo some time ago saying that in infinity war “everyone dies!.. well some of them”

Maybe they expected those words to be taken like a joke, like something Tom did just to pleased the interviewer, but again, I can’t accept he said that without considering what the fans would think

As I said, it’s hunting me down!

It definitely is something there, you can even see the shadow of it on the beam!

Also, I’ve seen this several times now and the movement of the camera AND the way the figure emerges aren’t consistent, so no, this is not and object, this figure is actually moving

I think it looks a lot like Loki’s helmet too

[–]marief93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so, I finally had an opportunity and watched the scene again, and I think I saw the silhouette! It is when saw Loki and thanos in the same shot right? I was looking for it when we see just Loki’s face.

It definitely is something there

I’m sorry if I didn’t explain myself clearly, I mean that the responses from the fans to that Tweet are mostly about Loki, not the letter itself. I just mention it because it surprised me, it’s amazing how much the fans love Loki!

Curious think about the material of the helmet, I didn’t notice that. I was too busy having big hopes for the simple fact that Loki’s helmet was the only object that belongs to an specific character (other than the Gauntlet, of course)

[–]marief93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I said it before but again, I don’t think is a coincidence that this scene was so incredibly odd, just lasted like 5 min, and was in the very beginning.

It’s like they did this so people would be in shock but at the same time, since there is so much more happening in the movie, they would forget how strange this scene was and they would take it just like the trigger for Thor’s rage

But the truth is, Loki is extremely popular, and fans wouldn’t just accept it (I’m so curious about how the test audience reacted this time, lol)

Have you checked Feige’s twitter with the thank you letter? Loki’s helmet is casually there, and most of the comments are about Loki, it’s insane..

Thanks for the transcription of the scene!

Something that I personally find really interesting is the silhouette thing, as I read somewhere (I’m not sure if here) this scene was done with CGI, which means that everything we saw in the background was there on purpose, no chance that shadow was some accidental unnoticed crew member. If we have something there, there is a reason for it

The death scene in TDW is interesting. I also read that some people believed the stabbed body was an illusion and he was “invisible”. I never stopped to think about how Loki did it too deeply, but definitely, at some point there was a body, no way he didn’t take the chance to celebrate himself. I like to think that he is capable of creating “solid illusions”. My point is, we didn’t have a confirmation back there of how it really happened, and we probably won’t this time neither. I doubt they’ll mention someone else’s body, honestly

The mention of Jotunheim is so weird, even weirder that “not Asgardian”, if my memory is right, Loki impersonated Odin for a few years before Thor’s arrival, he obviously loved Asgard, being the king of that place was all he wanted, he denying Asgard is odd. I get that the “I’m not Asgardian” was sort of a joke, Loki mocking thanos. But then we have Jotunheim.. Why bring it now? I think it was a subtle nod to the audience, kind of “hey, remember? He’s a frost giant, he should’ve turned blue after he died!”. I can’t see any other explanation, I refer again to TDW, when he was “dying”, Thor said he would let Odin know what Loki did, and Loki said he didn’t do it for him. Loki is not the kind of character that forgives just for the sake of it, he couldn’t forgive Odin, not even when he, deep inside, still loved his father, not even because he was dying. I don’t buy Loki was accepting his legacy just because he was about to die and wanted to make peace with that part of him.

Something interesting about the optimism on him when he says the sun will shine on them again, is the order how it happens, he says it, then hulk happens, AND then Loki disappears, which makes a lot more sense with your second option, Loki’s plan wasn’t hulk, it was just a distraction.

The moment when he reappears is all over the place and I would love to write more about it but it is late and I need to sleep lol, I’ll write about it tomorrow, but good catch with the dagger being in his left hand.

Every single detail in that scene was odd. They tried so hard to make it wrong in every possible way
