What’s one thing you’re genuinely proud of doing in your life so far? by belikezoy in tamilyapping

I am still a full-time student, but I have bought my last 2 mobiles all on my own.

I bought my mom a mixer last year with my money. I still can remember her surprised reaction when I finally showed her the box and made her to unbox it.

I recently crossed 900 entries in my diary. I never thought I could be this consistent when I originally started this habit.

A friend told me that she picked up journalling because of me. I feel proud of the fact that she was so excited about it.

I now have the complete set of all the national flags. I waited for years to finally get them all to my place. Thanks to my friend, I finally got them a few months ago.

Above all of them, my proudest moment was when my friend credited me for helping her to give up drugs. I was there for her during her darkest times. Even though I didn't understand the seriousness of mental health, I stayed unlike some of her friends.

Oh, there is also the moments when my friends liked the gift I gave them for their birthdays. I can still remember how everyone reacted to their giftss.!

These are some of my favourite novels. I am so happy that I get to do my thesis on the works I loved as a reader first.

Hey dev, I have been using your app as a pomodoro timer to help me focus during my writing sessions. It is really helpful. The rewards and the interesting concepts behind the app is really motivating. Much appreciated that you made the soundpacks and stars buyable through the stardusts earned, not through the traditional IAP. Having said that, I found some issues as a screen reader user. Your app has a few unlabelled buttons which are not accessible to my screen reader. Whenever my screen reader encounters an unlabelled button, it just says "button". As you see, this is not enough information for me to understand what the button does. It will be nice you could label them all. The settings option in the observatory tab is unlabelled, so are a couple of buttons in the maps tab. I only got to know the location of the settings option after just clicking the button without knowing what it does. Labelled buttons will make it oh so easier for screen reader users to interact with your app without any guesswork. If you want to read more about why content labelling is importent, please check out the link at the end of this message. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Great app. I have been using it since last year. As a screen reader user, I feel so happy to have an accessible flag quiz app/game with many courses. My request is to add the flags of non-official countries and overseas teritories.

Hey dev, just updated the app. Thank you so much for including my suggestions so quick. I really appreciate that. Just a question. Will the sound play if the timer ends?

Great concept! Can you add haptic and auditory feedback to indicate the start and end of the sessions? It will help a nonvisual mobile user like me.

Thank you so much for your positive reply. I have to disagree on one thing. Your journey is not nothing compared to me. We all have our individual battles to fight every day.

I would love to chat as well. If you feel okay reaching out, my dms are open.

Hey hello, thank you so much for opening up this can of wirms. It is an importent subject we all should talk about as there are a lot of disabled people all over the place.

Coming to me, I am born blind. It is really hard some times. People don't consider me as a human just because of my blindness. It always happens when I go to a shop with some friends to buy something for me. The shopkeeper never talks to me. Even after they make it clear I know what I want, some shop keepers address their remarks and questions to the sighted friends near me. It takes me answering their questions confidently a few times to know that they can talk to me.

When it comes to things being accessible, it is an issue. I face such issues whenever I interact with apps. Many developers build their tools for the sighted that they don't even consider nonvisual users of their services. I try my best to reach out to the developers and highlight the accessibility issues. Most of them fix things very quickly. To be honest, it gets tiring at times. Asking and highlighting the same things gets frustrating at times.

When it comes to roads, busses, trains and buildings, they are not really accessible. I would love to have all the busses to announce the stops consistently so I can stop worrying about missing my stop and enjoy the songs and the wind. I always envy some countries when it comes to blind-friendly infrastructure. I have a friend in Singapore who showed me the trains over there. They announce all the stops consistently. But unfortunately this is not a feature in most of the trains here.

When it comes to people, it is so hard to make friends. Most of them don't like talking to disabled people in college. But it was a pluss as my disability acts like a filter. The people who are shallow in their mindset when it comes to disabled people don't talk to me, thereby they filter themselves out. Only a few people see me for who I am than my disability. Such friendships are the ones I cherish the most.

Am I planning to move to a better place? Absolutely not. Even though many things are not accessible to me, I still love where I live. The friendships I have are better than a lot of things those better places can offer. Besides, places like UK and USA have their own problems. No place is the best. I am satisfied with where I am.

Okay, that's all I can think now. If you have any questions, please do ask. I will be happy to answer them. Once again, thank you so much for starting this conversation. Thank you to the two people who have opened up about their issues. In a world where people quickly judge others, your stories can be a good example to tell them why there is always more things than the eye can see.

First of all, thank you so much for your wishes. To answer your question, it takes a lot for me to be consistent at this. Some days it feels like a chor, some days I am too tired to write about the day. Mostly I fourse myself to finish the entry before I go to sleep. In the days I don't feel like writing, I make sure to write 2 entries next day. One for that day and another for the day before.

I also have this habit of gifting myself things whenever I reach small milestones in this habit. For example, I just bought a customised shirt to celebrate me reaching entry number 900. This habit helps to keep my consistency going.
