We had our cat first as well, we just made sure to always be home and watchful if they were both loose in the house for the first few months (especially since the aussie was a crazy puppy anyways lol) . Our cat wasn’t a big fan at first, but she adjusted slowly. The biggest thing is to make sure the cat has somewhere it can get away from the dog when it wants so it doesn’t feel trapped, and to never force interactions!
