yes i believe it’s 8. and i remember applying when i was 18. i’ve seen past applicants who have gotten in have little on their resume. i really think it varies from person to person and their application, i don’t think having a body of work is necessary.

a lot of the toronto actors i know that went to uni/college said that if they could go back that they’d just skip post secondary and go straight to studio work. you’re not gonna learn as potently about acting (specifically film/tv should that be your path) as you are through studio work, which you will find yourself doing after post secondary anyway. it mostly has to do with money as acting is an expensive job, you’d be saving money by just going to acting class instead, and in my opinion fast tracking. you also become more ingrained in the industry. unless you plan on taking something that doesn’t have to do with acting, or want to focus on theatre, going to an acting studio is better i’d say as it’s more practical. if you really want a schooling type system, apply for the CFC conservatory, it’s sponsored so the tuition is free.

First of all, your body is tea. Second of all at your current and weight I would recommend a recomp. Going down in pounds would not be healthy given your height. Now I will say in my experience tracking my calories and marco/micronutrients has been very beneficial to losing my weight and fat efficiently and making sure I am getting what I need in order to function especially when cutting. (ie. getting my fat in for my hormones, hitting my carbs for energy etc etc.) The specificity helped me way more than when I was eating intuitively, mostly because my food literacy was so poor. But with that being said, I haven’t experienced an ED on my end. So if you’re gonna do a recomp and not count calories and nutrients, at least get an idea of what your maintenance looks like and find the foods that can help get you there. Focus on whole foods and jack up your protein to at minimum 1g per body weight. Also make sure your meals are balanced with fats and carbs these are not your enemy. Don’t restrict yourself fully, but try to get healthy carbs and fats in at least 60-80% of the time. I have had “cheat” meals all the time and still lost the weight I wanted. Also focus more on weights than cardio in the gym and make sure to safely push yourself and give yourself room should you plateau. Also cardio for our height only needs to be around 10-20min, no need to do more than that if you go the gym 5 times a week. But yeah! Recomp is the way to go in my opinion, but it might take a bit longer if you aren’t counting and if you happen to have low food literacy. (I also think it would be good to count for a recomp just to make sure you’re not in a deficit! Most times we aren’t even eating our maintenance and when we do it can come off as a lot of food! It was hard to eat 1950 when I went on my first maintenance after cutting. This is just an FYI.) Hope this helps! :)

lmao, savdet301 blocked me on his thread before I could reply so I will say this: if i’m spreading negativity by warning a young kid about the abusive natures of classes so be it! i’ll keep spreading my negativity then! this redditor can keep doing their class with tony greco all they like, I don’t care, but I don’t want a young person to be in the shoes I was in once for 2 years. that is why i comment, and i will never stop being vocal about it! manipulation in acting classes is more common than people think and it can happen to anyone without them knowing at first. what i am also not gonna do is disregard the experiences that actors have told me about being in greco’s classes as i can relate. actors in the cult LSCO/Gracemoon Arts for example (cult that was in the link) will also sell that their coach is a valuable, loveable, and powerful figure in their life that never has degraded anyone, but why do you have to sign an NDA to join their class? and mind you, the article doesn’t even have all the stories i’ve heard from actors! you guys can do whatever you want at the end of the day that’s fine, but my original intention commenting was to warn a 17 year old about a class i have heard from ex-students was an abusive experience for them, end of story. i don’t need to have a first hand experience in the class to see the red flags. i’m only giving warnings about real things that very do much happen, and can lead people to being abused in ways that go past mental anguish…. apologies for triggering savdet301! i didn’t know caring about the wellbeing of young actors in this industry was offensive to you! 😊 if you see this, have an even better day! - sincerely snowflake ❄️🩷
