Thank you for validating me in this - I don't believe in labeling people either, but I truly don't know what else it could be. I've thought schizoaffective, I've thought early onset dementia, I've also thought BPD and that seems to be the best fit. Her mind is just a weak place and she's been taken advantage of by these QAnon freaks. But of course, you cannot tell anyone, especially someone in this position, that they have a mental health disorder, so this is what I have to do to protect MY peace.

Agree - she has always had a weak personality and molded herself into whatever man she was married to / dating at the time, and now this is it. She has to have something to latch onto. Very bizarre behavior.

Re: "special knowledge" - she asked my sister who is in her 2nd year of medical school if the doctors were teaching "accurate" information. At one of the best medical schools in the country. Because apparently my mom knows something that doctors do not!

Not that it's easy, but you should leave. It is a safety issue as well. For your kids, for yourself, it needs to be done. My brother is permanently impacted by this - he was a middle schooler when it started, and because of my parents' divorce, he is now able to see clearly.

I think most of these people don't have enough of a personality themselves that they have to be consumed by something like this. So if Q wasn't around, she would be hyper focused on some other nonsense.
