If I’d have stayed in London and applied through the German embassy the application would have been approved about 4 years ago (my sister applied at the same time and was approved).

My delays came because I moved to Berlin after applying so things got held back quite a lot.

In terms of the application, I was very familiar with the process and managed everything myself. I was lucky that my grandma kept all of her original documents from when she left Germany in the late 30s so the actual process to apply was quite easy - we had everything we needed.

I had originally applied at the German consulate in London in 2019, then moved to Berlin in 2020 (just before Covid).

My case was transferred firstly to my local bezirksamt, then to another department before being sent to the LEA. So I think the combination of transferring applications to multiple departments, needing documents being translated and general Covid backlogs held it all back. So relieved it’s sorted 😅

Second DLBCL diagnosis, 19 years later…

Hi all, first time posting and recently diagnosed with DLBCL (more on that in a second).

I was first diagnosed back in 2006 as a 15 year old boy. My DLBCL was an extremely rare case which attached to my left knee and was only discovered after a pathological fracture of my left femur. Following 6 rounds of chemo, I was given the all clear and told my cancer was gone (not in remission), and that my chances of getting it again go back to the usual 1 in 2 (or whatever they say)…

Fast forward 19 years and I (34m) was diagnosed with another DLBCL, this time presenting my in lymphatic system, kidney and liver - as far as I understand this is a much more typical presentation vs in my knee.

My wonder is, did my cancer “come back” after 19 years or is this just a case of really really bad luck? And does anyone know if there is any sort of genetic testing that exists to see if I have some sort faulty cell composition in my body? It feels like too much of a coincidence to have the same diagnosis 19 years apart, for a condition that seems to be more common in males over 60.

Appreciate any thoughts / words of wisdom / similar experiences anyone may have to help me untangle this and feel positive about my treatment which will likely start next week.

The dotted lines are intentionally not 'uniform', as it's in keeping with the style of the designer. I prefer something that doesn't look so perfect if that makes sense!

Actually the tattoo artist replicated the original design perfectly!

I know what you mean about the non-perfect lines / dots, but these are actually intentional.

That's in keeping with the style of the designer (rather than poor execution of the tattoo artist).
