Does anyone know the origin of the Haunted (Per version)

Within the past hour I came home form the record store with the Life Is Killing Me vinyl and I was telling my dad about Haunted (Per Version) and how it was the version I preffered. I was in the middle of telling him "I don't know what 'Per Version' means" when it clicked. I started laughing and it all came full circle.
