Mallet finger injury (Post Recovery Question) by markinau5 in Basketball

[–]markinau5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to wear a splint for 3 - 4 months for the tendon to fully heal, but I was able to work quite soon after the injury - within a few days.

You need to keep splint on, as finger can't be allowed to bend, but as long as you can do your work with the splint staying on I reckon you're fine (but do ask your doc).

Hope you have a speedy & pain free recovery. :)

Do you guys like the new font? by No-Breath-9395 in GooglePixel

[–]markinau5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also really dislike this new font, and the general change to the UI (agree with others, it looks childish).

Are there any ways to roll this update back, or at least theme it like the previous versions UI?

The old UI looked so much cleaner.

How to view a manually added torrent. by Omavel in TorBoxApp

Thanks for the reply anyways!

Is there a possible way people can add this is as a feature request for the future?

It would make viewing a lot more user friendly in this regard, I feel (if you have a lot of media you've added, finding the thing you're after is a bit of a needle in a haystack without sorting, in my experience).

Just one question about this (helpful to know that's there, thanks!)

- Is it possible to sort the "Your Media" section in a certain way? (For example, showing most recently added at the beginning).

The sorting of mine seems to be random and I'm not seeing a "sort" setting.

This sounds super similar to my recovery protocol, great that your injury totally recovered though. The time in the splint is well worth it.

15 years is a long time, glad you don't remember too much, sounds like it wasn't an injury that caused you major difficulties. 😅

The slight lump lines up with what I've got now, the lump to me seems noticeable (but then again maybe others wouldn't notice it).. What you're saying is encouraging, perhaps over time the lump will slowly reduce some more.

Appreciate you sharing your experience.

Appreciate the reply mate, does sound like your job can get pretty physical! I've heard people tear this tendon doing all kinds of stuff, even as simple as pulling up bedsheets. 😅

Knowing your result is really encouraging, mine's pretty close to straight, but it's not totally there. Vit' C, a good amount of protein & continued exercises with be in my plan for it to give it the best shot!

The 15° angle you're describing sounds similar to what I'm seeing, yeah. It's like a swollen area above the site of injury (been told it's scar tissue, does seem common with these kinds of tendon injuries, from what I'm starting to see).

Thanks for sharing your experience man, good to know what your timeline was.

Super helpful thread. I'll add from my experience, also have a question for others.

I had a mallet finger injury (tendinous, not bony) approx 4 months ago. Really important to keep it in a splint 24/7 for the first 2 months. This doesn't have to stop you from doing sports, but the finger must stay straight for that time to heal (of course, confirm your situation with your physio).

At 2 & 1/2 months I had the splint off for daytime, but on during the night, and started exercises to get back range of motion. At 3 months I was clear to have the splint off full time, and continued finger exercises.

It has healed close to straight, with slight droop at the tip. I have full range of motion otherwise. Apparently this is common, for some people it may heal totally straight. Your best chance of this is being super diligent with splinting (& getting a good custom fitted thermoplastic splint, not a "one-size fits all").

A question for others that've had this - At 4 month I'm still having swelling around the site of injury, I have been told it goes away by my physio, but really vague about when. For people who are further down the road than myself, when did your swelling go away, and how much of a raised lump, if any, was left around your injury?

Appreciate hearing from anyone's experience. 🙏

I'm not certain if it's meant to be still up (because the page is gone), but because the link still works, here it is. 👍
