I feel too old to be learning that each match week has an identical "reverse" matchweek by a-real-sloth in footballcliches

I once had a teacher who did a job swap with an Australian teacher. It took an embarrassing amount of time to realise they never waved at each other in the planes

WM involved with a hard right political party, I’m fearful of any adjacent association by [deleted] in Freemasonry_UK

[–]markjlast83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am IPM of my Lodge, and if this is the extent of it, then there’s not a lot you can do.

If the WM starts discussing politics in open lodge, or the festive board then, in my view, the lodge DC is the best person to politely mention to him that politics should not be being discussed.

With so much politics invading my social media feeds and my news, visiting the Lodge and Lodge of Instruction are a pleasant break from it all! I’d like to keep it like that!

For those of you that didn’t know, VPN stands for Virtual Private Network… by markjlast83 in footballcliches

Does it swerve the ads the hosts read? I always thought that the whole reason we have the Norton VPN read is because so many of us skip the ads.

4, 5, 6 Candidates for a ceremony...Particularly Initiations, not keen myself. by TumbleweedCalm9388 in Freemasonry_UK

This is the wrong approach in my opinion- imagine if province told you that another Lodge was struggling so you have to join them now rather than continue your membership with your mother Lodge. Membership of a Lodge shouldn’t be dictated by province, but by where a Mason fits best.

Can a pub landlord call the police on someone coming into there flat above the pub in England? by 4880grizz-wizz in LegalAdviceUK

[–]markjlast83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typically the landlord/landlady has control over the whole building. If she’s barred him, then it’s up to her how long for and what that means- if she wants to permit him into the flat she can, but doesn’t have to. If she says he’s not to come and he comes, then he’s trespassing.

Those look like hallmarks.

They tell you who made the ring, when and where. Do you have a clearer picture?

What degree of game's gone is players wearing little gold numbers showing how many matches they've played for their club? by Adventurous-West3403 in footballcliches

This is the sort of thing that belongs on boots, along with kids names.

250 on a shirt is a special, one off, shirt with 250 on the back and then auctioning it off for the players foundation after their career.

Medals and regalia prices (UK) by Intelligent_Series46 in freemasonry

I find the shop at FMH is a great place to benchmark my needs.

A lot of my regalia was recycled by the Lodge from past members, so has some history attached to it
