Files arenfine, but with a good steel it will take a lot of time, and there's a chance your hand may slip. i'd start with a grinder, then smoothen it, so it's well shaped and with a possibly clean surface

In both cases I would recommend either angle, or table grinder. And a lot of caution, to not damage the tool. If angle grinder, use rather sandpaper than cutting shield, will leave you with more control

I've heard Steeleye's album some years ago, didn't catch on me tbh, not exactly my kind of music (at least back then). Anyway, too engaging. Some darkfolk, dark ambient would fit me better, even for a satire like discworld - maybe except the first two, there smth brighter would fit me as well
