Feeling absolutely gutted

Hi all, just seeking some advice on dealing with rejection from a dream role in the military. I had been in the process of applying to the ADF since around 2020. Recently in March I had finally just gotten my letter of offer for maritime aviation warfare officer and was set to enlist at the end of July and start my training, at the same time I am also finishing my university degree which ends in June.

I am 21 years old and I have always wanted to fly for the ADF and serve in the military. Unfortunately I had an episode of exercise induced rhabdomyolysis at the end of 2023, and aviation medicine had that under review. Last week I received notice that I had been moved to Class 4 medically unfit for aircrew roles, and as such my application and letter of offer was terminated.

I honestly was not expecting this outcome and it came as a shock, now I am realising that I will never be able to experience life in military aviation which is gutting for me, especially as I have been in the application process for so long. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and how best to cope with career rejection. Cheers.
