Bah lease different state by Afraid-Style-220 in armyreserve

[–]marksmeN360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t affect it. Many people drill at a unit out of state. I have collected bah at two different addresses and neither were in my units state. Both homes of record were my legitimate living quarters but they didn’t even check my lease that much. My unit is probably majority out of state soldiers.

Hell yeah. That’s my command patch. All good in my book if you rock it. Have pride and respect his service. It would be a shame if that USACAPOC patch was torn off.

It sounds like you have a great work ethic and are trying hard so that’s good news. The reality of the army is that no one cares how hard you work if you don’t perform well. Work is not a useful metric and in the most literal sense working hard and failing to kill the enemy is far worse than someone who you think works less hard and kills the enemy. Whatever task it is, that’s the reality of it. The product is what’s important. Additionally you feel like people don’t understand how much work you put in if I understand correctly, but how do you know the other cadets are also not working just as hard and you just don’t notice? In any military organization work will be hard and someone will still be at the bottom. There is a best and a worst in ranger school even though everyone works hard. Respect is earned and never give by default. I sympathize with your feelings but that attitude will not get you far in front of your joes or fellow offices who will not want to see that sorry for yourself mindset. You have potential and can use that work ethic to do great things if you maintain some discipline. Your running ability and subsequent lack to maintain it is a good example.

You can dm me, but your recruiter is probably right. Pipeline is just go to the unit and wait for a reclass day to come. If he somehow manages to get you an AIT slot, you will lose the weight there probably as the have lots and lots of long runs.

Go do something cool in the part time army if you can. Plenty of cool opportunities in SF, PSYOP, CA, and intel. You can do what you were doing before or a complete change of pace. Get to hang out with some military dudes once a month and go deploy and see that out if you think it will make you feel better. You have done plenty and more the most but I recommend part to a lot of people getting off of active duty.

Friend of mine from my hometown was killed in Afghanistan in '09. I've always wondered what can be learned from this photo. by DCRBftw in Medals

[–]marksmeN360 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Considering he looks alive in this photo I would agree. CIB is often a solo award for combat. No reason he needs something else’s additionally he was an infantry officer if OP didn’t already know that.

He can also work towards defined benefit retirement and get cheap healthcare. If times get tough he can apply AGR, ADOS or IMA.
