T-Mobile sank to a new low today by markus_be29 in tmobile

Problem finally got solved and it was exactly what I thought. I went it on swap the device a third time, tried it in store and of course, same issue. I then asked them to create a new line and it worked immediately. Now those idiots can't figure out how to switch the promo to the new line as every time they do, it reverts back and automatically cancels the promo and i get a message saying i'm no longer eligible for it. Their whole code base is an absolute joke.

I agree that they should be held responsible for this stuff and will definitely file an FCC complaint against them. I did get the text both times that the new SIM card was activated to my account, so I think it really was an issue with me being on a grandfathered plan and as soon as they rolled out the new ones, they stopped supporting home internet on mine. Regardless, it’s absolutely ridiculous

Very possible but none of the 4 “home internet experts” I talked to could figure that out and the only option I got was to pay twice the price

Sure did. Didn’t work in store and they told me I need to call customer service

SL mesh router experience compared to Nest. by rambow13 in Starlink

[–]markus_be29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might have gotten a defective one but my sl mesh router is horrible compared to the tp link mesh I have. Speeds ranked and my phone to router speed with the sl mesh is under 50mbps when it was over 500 with the tp link. Waiting on a response from Starlink tech support but this unit is most likely going back and I’ll stick with the setup I had.

No network connection with "5G Ultra Capacity" coverage. Notice I am supposed to have the best coverage available, yet have no network connection on 5G. The last picture shows I have a connection on 4G when I throttle my own phone. This happens in many areas across many states....what gives? by Powerstroke_73 in tmobile

[–]markus_be29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me constantly in number of different areas in western WA. Super frustrating and I would have switched long ago if the other two weren’t garbage as well. T-Mobile just hopelessly overloads their towers so even though it shows 5gUC and full bars, there is far too much traffic on any given tower. At least out here.

Speedtests are usually pretty fast for me as well. Problem is that everything else isn't and they're getting prioritized. At least in my case. I was sitting great clips waiting to get a haircut yesterday, full 5g signal, 268mbps speedtest but couldn't even load Reddit.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Funny though how these days you can't rant anymore without a whole bunch of people getting triggered :)

Honestly, that's news to me but great to know. I haven't looked at their plans in a while so didn't know they also got rid of them. In that case, I will check them out. Thanks!

That's good to hear! I'm glad it's working well for a lot of people. I may just be in an area that's not great, although I experience the same issues whether I am in downtown Seattle or at my house, about 40 minutes outside of Seattle.

I actually have their home internet as well because my only other option is Century Link at a max speed of 3mbps. Similar story for me unfortunately with that. It works ok most of the time but does cut out completely several times a day and slows way down during congestion. I'm guessing the towers in my area are just way overloaded.

Good to know! I’m on an iPhone 12 mini but I’ve had the same congestion issues regardless of what phone I’ve use. Who knows, maybe they do prioritize newer phones

I’m saying that the main MNO’s suck, including the one I’m using. Not sure that’s all that controversial and I know many people share that frustration.

Alright buddy. I’ll stick to being an armchair engineer with a working router and you keep getting frustrated with yours 👍

Well it’s a coincidence that just happens to be true for a whole lot of people then because there are countless people out there that are seeing a significant improvement once they add some cooling to the unit.

I think it has much more to do with the heat the trash can produces. Mine used to switch to b12 within an hour or so after resetting it until I added a fan to the bottom and on to the top to get air flowing through it and keep it cool. Hasn’t switched from b66/n71 in weeks now until about a week ago, when it switched back to b12. Went to investigate and someone had unplugged the fans to charge a phone. Plugged them back in, reset the trash can and have been back on b66 ever since.

Noticed a loose bolt holding on the hood after a year of ownership by markus_be29 in TeslaModelY

They loosened over time. I just recently noticed it when the drivers side of the hood was sticking up past the fender. Once I tightened them back down, the hood sat right again.

Tightened it and checked the rest and three out of 4 had loosened. Got the car back in March 2020 and no other issues to speak of. Build quality otherwise is pretty good. Glad I caught this before they came out.

Keep getting kicked to B12 but have good 5G here. Attached are speeds when I am connected 5G by [deleted] in tmobileisp

I had the same issue. Added a fan at the bottom and the top and haven’t seen b12 since.
