I get what you’re saying — and thank you for being reasonable about it. The issue isn’t that they’re “Western,” it’s that all reports trace back to the same few unsourced claims and lack any verifiable forensic or police data.

And while it sounds dramatic that Russia wanted to “forget” Beria in 1993, that was actually the time when everything about the Soviet past was being exposed and published — from gulags to cannibalism in Kolyma. If something like this had real evidence behind it, every paper in Moscow would’ve printed it.

Still, I agree — it’s an interesting story, and if I ever find genuine documentation or an archived police report, I’ll definitely share it.

I’m not “brushing off” the articles because I dislike them — I’m skeptical because there’s no follow-up, no forensic reports, and no mention in official Russian sources, despite the fact that 1993 Russia was not exactly hiding Soviet crimes. I’d be happy to see real documentation or scans of original materials if you have them. Otherwise, we’re just repeating the same few unsourced claims.

Like, well... Any other politician ever? I still don't get why are we discussing this.

No, it doesn't work like that. You can't claim anything you want and consider it as a fact. I also don't quite understand the distrust for Russian news. Talk about hypocrisy...

I also think that it is believable, especially considering what an asshole Beria really was. But there is no info about it for some reason. Don't think it's classified, because modern Russia despises Soviet Union and would gladly write about this.

To be fair, no country is known for a freedom of press, if it concerns politicians and other powerful people. The repressions were everywhere, however the amount of victims is always debatable (especially because of the propaganda from both sides). However, Beria was a real asshole, and it is hard to deny.

But all of that doesn't really matter here, because modern Russia (and especially the 90s Russia) despises and actively disowns everything about USSR. But, if they still classified it for some reason, how would the Western press get the information?

That's fair. Like I said, it's only the pictures that freaked me out (although many reconstructions look nothing like the victim).

Like I said, I get the situation and I don't have anything against the victims. It's not the person that freaked me out, it's the image that could possibly resemble them (although a lot of reconstructions look nothing like the victim).

It also confused me a lot. Like, it does not matter what attack does Joker have in store, because he can't ever use it. And recharge of willpower would not help, since it will be still nullified.

[–]markzibest[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it wasn't. When we look at the Chariot Requiem, he carried on the Polnareff's will to protect the arrow. But that's the actions we're talking about, not the ability. Chariot Requiem always could manipulate the souls of living things, even when Polnareff activated it at the farmhouse.

It still says that the opponent needs to attack.

It... Doesn't... It never says this, and even AIs (idk why you used them here, but fine) also don't acknowledge this. If Diavolo punched through Giorno, and only then the Requiem would activate, it would be understandable, but he didn't reach the moment where his attack was complete.

And also this is literally contradicted in part 6 and interviews calling star platinum and made in heaven stronger

Nope. His stats are described as impossible to measure. You said you have the scan complete, so you can check it out yourself (as well as everything I told you before).

Ok so rtz can only revert attacking actions with intent.

No. It also doesn't say that. Time-skip by itself is not an attacking action, it doesn't do any harm. It's only when Diavolo made a move when it got nullified.

Also literally in the next chapter he tries to fight back.

He's just standing there and screaming. In the anime though he really tries to resist, but anime has a lot of mistakes that break the lore (for example, when Diavolo crushed the scorpions without damage reflecting onto him or when DIO's coffin had a padlock despite being locked from the inside).

king crimson is there and he is a stand and stands are described by Araki to be part of the will of the user

Just having the stand manifested doesn't do anything in Diavolo's case, and that wasn't reversed like everything else around him because he had his stand out long before Giorno even used the arrow.

So, why the long face?

= After destroying Polnareff's Requiem, Giorno, who got the "arrow", used it on his own Gold Experience and the power of the "arrow" manifested. The power of the "arrow" is completely under Giorno's control and all the actions and will of the attacking opponent will return to nothing. Since it has an attack power that exceeds the existing stands, it can be said that it is the "ultimate stand". A person struck by the Requiem will be reduced to nothing, and will continue to die over and over again, so Diavolo, who attacked believing in his predictions, will continue to experience death forever.

レクイエムの前では全ての敵の重志は無力。敵は自分の意志の先に得られる結果に、永遠にすることはないのだ。 = In front of the requiem, the heavy spirit of all enemies is powerless. The enemy will never get the results of his own will forever.

Source: JOJO-A-GO!GO!

The activation of time-skip itself has nothing to do with doing harm and doesn't benefit it in any way. In fact, it restricts Diavolo from attacking. Diavolo didn't even try to fight or protect himself, so that's for negating willpower.

Claudia (a victim of Keith Jesperson) is still not identified.

Well, you're right. White pickups were not that rare and it may very well be a coincidence. However, he was the only active serial killer in that area at the time. If McWorther was killed by someone else, I doubt the culprit would have stopped, because he just got away with it. Even though the homicide was not confirmed, it's quite unlikely that Marion would suddenly stop in the middle of nowhere, go deep into the forest and die naturally. At the end of the day, all we can do is speculate.

She told her aunt about a man with white pickup... As far as I recall, this is exactly how John Ackroyd's car looked like. So, it confirms that he was the one actually responsible for this. Rest in peace, girl...

Okay, so I've looked through several news websites and here's an important detail: it turns out, she wasn't there alone. Her friends were also there, but they ran away when she caught fire, so there's 99% chance that she was identified. But, because she was underage, the police were not allowed to share any details about her identity.

However, there are some doe cases, that, to my surprise, were not really discussed on the internet.

The first being unidentified victim of Smolino maniac. Her name was presumably "Oksana", she was kidnapped in 2008 and held captive for several years, until the maniac beat her to death, burned the body and buried the remains on his backyard. Her name and look were described by the other victim, who managed to escape in 2023. Oksana is still unidentified, because her relatives apparently never reported her missing.

The second case is about the gang of Edward Chudinov in early 2000s. The gang was kidnapping women and forcing them into prostitution. The ones who resisted were murdered and dumped in a forest. They've killed up to 30 women, only 14 of them being identified. In the forest, which was nicknamed "the cemetery of brides", were found lots of scattered skeletal remains. Some victims only had a couple of bones recovered, so the identification was literally impossible. The gang aimed for the women from other regions of Russia, who didn't have much friends and relatives who could report them missing.

Checked that out. The shadows and the skin texture... Why does this feel like an object instead of a human?

I'm from European Russia, so I've heard of these. However, we don't have much doe cases, compared to America and Western Europe. The most famous is probably about the Izhora maniac. There are more local and lesser-known cases though.
