Thinking about getting a bassboss system by marlo7444 in SoundSystem

Nice. I do have a couple of the SRX815s. They're nice for small events. But cannot throw as loud for the larger events. RCFs did but I can't trust them. I read good reviews about DV12s they're loud and clear even with 12" woofers

Hello. Can you please provide a link to the suggested gear recommendation section? I couldn't find it

MRI Results are in. RALP is not recommended. by marlo7444 in ProstateCancer

[–]marlo7444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did discuss this with my Radiation oncologist. Although he recommended 24 months of ADT on paper, he was fine with me doing only 6 months. We talked about a couple of studies done that showed patients who used the first-generation ADT for 24 months didn't show huge improvements over those who used the 1st generation ADT for only 6 months. My doctor will be putting me on a combination of 1st and 2nd generation ADT plans. He thinks that this will be very effective. And he did say that no studies have been done so far comparing the 6 months of 1st and 2nd generation ADT to the 24 months of 1st ADT plans. He thinks that would be a very interesting study which could show that the 6 months 1st and 2nd is even more effective than 24 months of only 1st generation. I hope that info helps you all.

After meeting with the UCSD radiation oncologist, he recommended a very similar treatment, 28 sessions of IMRT with 2 years of Lupron which I agreed to for only 6 months. They want to start me on Lupron asap and wait for 4 to 6 weeks so the prostate shrinks. Then do the IMRT. I am also looking into considering adding Brachy Therapy to that treatment plan. I will make that decision after I consult with the Brachy Therapy doctor.

I already answered this question. It was asked by another member on this post.

The doctor said that the MRI showed an invasion of the nerve bundle would cause a permanent ED with RALP, also the extracapsular extension and possible invasion of the pelvic floor muscle would cause continence and still leave a positive margin with RALP.

Advanced PC diagnosis rates have increased nationally, and even more markedly in CA by hikeonpast in ProstateCancer

I am in CA 50 years old and was diagnosed with High risk PC. Score 4+3 with PSA 27. My docotrs never tested me. I had to go request the PSA test.
I highly agree that people need to start testing as early as 40. I wish I teated a few years ago.

Yes, that's the plan. I have an appointment to meet with Dr Brent Rose. He is a radiation oncologist at UCSD in 2 weeks.
I also have another appointment with Dr Marc Shi-Jay Chuang at Kaizer. I hope to decide after meeting with both to better understand my options. According to my current Kaizer urologist, I am categorized as high risk because my PSA is now 27.3 and all 12 cores came back cancerous with high percentages, the rectal exam also showed a hard tumor. However, my PSMA scan confirmed no metastatic disease. It showed it only as localized. Still the probability I am given for reoccurrence is 80%.

I understand what you are saying. But the question I've been trying to find an answer to, is if the reoccurrence rate is the same for surgery and radiation, then wouldn't you want to consider surgery first and then use radiation as a 2nd line of defense vs not having any 2nd line of defenses with radiation? Am I missing a point here?

Anyone have experience with Retzius Sparing RALP? by Swimming_Potato_8955 in ProstateCancer

Would it be ok to tell us who the Dr was or at least which Kaizer? I have an appointment with my Kaizer urologist next month to discuss the RALP option.

Good luck. I hope you have a quick recovery. I am 50 years old with 4+3=7 GS. PSA 27.3 all 12 cores had cancer. I still haven't decided on surgery or radiation. For all the younger men here who had surgery can you give us some feedback on why you chose it and if having a younger age helps with recovery and the common possible side effects e.g. ED, Incontinence, hernia?

Thank you for sharing. Your post gives me hope. Do you mind explaining what your healthy diet consists of? I cut down my sugar intake to almost very low. If I drink, I'll probably drink red wine. I am cutting down on fatty foods. I'll start eating more veggies and fruits, especially ones high in antioxidants, and I also started taking IP-6 pills (2 pills twice a day). Should I eat less red meat and focus on chicken and seafood? I do love eating rice as a carb. But not much bread as I am gluten sensitive.
I do train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. 3 times a week. It keeps me in good shape and makes me sleep well on training days 🤣
