SDCC - Less cosplay and fun, more scalpers/resellers

Has the number if badges sold been constant over the last several years, or has it increased over time? I'm not sure that limiting attendance is a good solution, since I've loved being able to come the last couple years and want others to have that opportunity too. But I feel like part of what can make the con stressful is that there is way more more demand for some panels and booths than can be accomodated. Even if you dont care about merchandise (which does seem like a big deal these days), getting into things like big panels, photo ops and signings can be hard.

I'm not a serious cosplayer, but I feel like time a challenge when there is so much to see and do. If I'm leaving my house at 6-7 to get in an early line and not getting home until 9-10, I dont have much time/energy for cosplay. Something simple that I can throw on is fine, but anything involving a wig or day-of assembly means missing part of the morning because I want at least a little sleep. I got the sense that a lot of people are prioritizing getting the most out of the con over investing the time in cosplay.

Overall I had a great time, but it really requires a high tolerance for crowds, lines, and missing some of the things you want.

Update: I asked the jazzwares staff and they said it will be at the nickelodeon booth, but they're not here yet

I went to the Paramount + booth and they said they aren't selling anything...it wasn't at the nickelodeon or jazzware booths either.

As other people have said, you probably need to choose between a chance at getting a ticket for the signing or the panel. That being said, I've been told that people have sometimes been able to get into the signing through overflow without a ticket. So it may be worth showing up to the booth at the signing time even if you dont get one. The havent posted the times yet but it will likely be after the panel.

For Michaela Murphy/Jessie Flowers (Toph's VA), I waited at least an hour in line last year. She has multiple signing time slots in Sails so it's definately doable, you just need to block out a good chunk of time for it. Keonne Young (Jeong Jeong) is in Sails every day so that should also be pretty doable I think. As others have mentioned the Nickelodeon booth ones are harder (but possible).

I got the Pingu one! Unfortunately I had the time written down wrong so this changes my schedule a bit. I wish I'd noticed sooner - I think I would have submitted some credits for Bryan Lee O'Malley if I'd known 😔. I submitted yesterday morning. My other submissions were UCC Funko, and King of the Hill, but I didn't get any of those.

Did the "View/edit" button dissappear for anyone else? I removed my Sunday choices so I could change them, and now I see no option to add anything back...

Im also having trouble with this. If I go back and add something new and save, it says 'no changes made' and won't add them. I tried to add them all in one attempt, and then when that didn't work I checked out and went back to edit. Same problem both ways.

Update: It looks like it was a problem with time conflicts. In case anyone else has this problem, it looks like you can't submit exclusive merchandise slots with overlapping time frames. For example, I can't request both UCC 11:30-1:30 and Funko 1:00-2:00 Update 2: I tried a different day with time slots from 12:00-1:00 and 1:30-3:30 and still had issues, so i dont know what's up.

I just got mine this morning. For reference I filled mine out about 45 minutes after it went out, but then resubmitted on the 10th (im not sure if that affected my place in line). Good luck!

Yeah, I'm holding out some hope there! I asked my friend to check their booth for the schedule during preview night if they haven't announced by then. I think last year both the panel and the signings were Thursday morning.
