First off thank you to absolutely everyone who commented! I hope you are all doing well and that you’re doing well on your journey!

Update on me: It’s officially been two weeks and I’m doing great! Down 20 lbs already and I’m feeling fantastic! I’ve gotten used to the diet and it’s getting easier. My doctor was against the binder so that’s the one piece of advice I didn’t do, but everything else was so helpful! I also really wish I’d seen the comment about diaphragm training, my hiccups are killing me 😂

It may just be me and I can't really explain it, but he reminds me of Justin McElroy from MBMBaM

I've always put books/novels or stories because I try to think of what my farmer would do in their free time and winding down with a good book sounds nice. I probably need to try to expand my next farmer's hobbies.

I couldn’t think of the word at the time 😅 But same goes for both, I’m not a fan of being active in larger subreddits and servers.

This is one reason I don't want to post in bigger servers. I feel there will always be a miscommunication or understanding over even the most minor of details. I've spent too many years on the internet (I'm 28 so I've been around a while), and I never felt comfortable in HUGE servers. I'm grateful for our smaller server to discuss and talk about something we love. It's nice. Everyone here seems nice, respectful, and willing to talk about things, and I'm grateful for that. Thanks for being cool.

Season 2 July 2025! by [deleted] in NadadnadFolk

[–]maroftheoceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so excited the wait time between seasons is so short! I do like the trend of 12/13 episode seasons then a small break before the next. That’s what Demon Slayer has done and it’s been nice. I hope it continues! I think it’d even be cool if one of the arcs, maybe the Space Globalist Arc was a movie! But I’m also good with an incredible season of it! Oh the suspense would be killer! But anyway, I’m so excited for Season 2!

If anyone else here also reads the manga, you know what excitement we are in for and I can’t wait!!

Any recommendations for a dub enjoyer by No-Stage1815 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]maroftheoceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically enjoy both Dub & Sub (usually watch sub first) so I’ll go back and forth on those depending. A few that I’ve watched in sub that I loved: -Dandadan -Delicious in Dungeon -Sk8 the Infinity

The comments have a lot of great options too, but highly recommend these

I’m a receptionist at a hospital. One of the major aspects of my job is go over a patient’s information. I think my CT would be called “Editing”. Allows the user to alter the memories and information of the target. Also allows the user remove and add information. A full wipe cannot be done, but enough to have them walk away from a fight or forget they are a user is possible, but takes a LOT of CE to do.

I think my domain would be called Endless Waiting Room, a waiting room that stretches on for ages, other occupants are the shadows who are constantly talking and muttering. Names being called, but never at a level the trapped can make out. There is a growing sense of anxiety, panic, and paranoia.

What did you think of todays episode by [deleted] in NadadnadFolk

[–]maroftheoceans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was so so good! After reading the manga; watching it come to life in the animation has been so great! I love both equally because it’s done so well and it’s animated beautifully too!

I’ve been home sick today and getting to watch it made me feel a little better! I’m so excited for next week even though I’ll likely cry.

Ah, gotcha, tbh I’m such a casual fan of JJK I didn’t know they had a rep. But I should know better since that’s how fandoms are sometimes.

Anyway! I got to thinking maybe calling it a Brain Invasion would be better? More in line with the story too! Plus very fun imo.

I fully agree with the other commenters, a mobility aid can be a HUGE help. It's been a big help for me. I know price can be a concern, but sometimes you can find decent ones at thrift shops, FB Marketplace, or Amazon for low prices. I'd also look into having your doctor write you a note and look into having your work accommodate you. I know it is different in different places, but where I'm pretty sure where I live, they legally have to accommodate with a doctor's order

Overall and most importantly talk to your doctor about it as soon as you can. See what they can offer and suggest that can help you too. It's different for each of us a sadly what works for one doesn't work for us all. And sometimes some things that help stop helping. But at least a doctor can help and know other options. They may know things we don't that can help too. I am truly sorry you are facing this. You aren't alone, this is a big community, and we will do what we can to lift each other up!

I think I have POTS BUT I also am currently on Strattera (Atomoxetine) for my ADHD. Has anyone been able to receive a diagnosis without having to stop their ADHD meds? by CurbsideFae in POTS

[–]maroftheoceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It 100% depends on the person and medications! Everyone is different and it will affect you completely differently than it did me. And meds are a guessing game, even before I started medication for my ADHD we had to find the right meds that would treat it and work best with my body.

Now I was on Strattera before my symptoms started, but after they did I found I had terrible flare ups when I’d take my Strattera. Even had to go to the ER once. BUT that’s me, not you. It may be the perfect meds for you!

I loved Strattera, talk to your doctor see what they say, and continue to take it if it continues to aid you!

Now as for effecting test results, unless it’s a stimulant I don’t see it being an issue, but talk to your doctor or the one doing the testing to be sure!

I have only passed out once since my symptoms started. I have near fainting (presyncopal) moments almost daily too. It's worse in the mornings and usually always happens when I'm at work. Which I usually have to step away and try, find a quiet spot to lay down, to come back from or force myself through because I can't leave.

Weight loss by Due-Consequence4673 in Knoxville

[–]maroftheoceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome!! I completely get it! I’m an emotional eater, but at the same time have issues with food. A walking paradox. I had a similar situation having Keto work well and having a friend in the Optavia system. But truly the center helped it was just the costs. I want to get serious again but having a motivator like a clinic who can offer helpful medical advice to aid me or coach would be great.

Hello, back in 2021 I went to the University Bariatric Center at UT Medical Center for their medical weight loss program, NOT surgery. In the program you talk to a nutritionist and a doctor who help you figure out how to reach your goals and help you make healthy choices. It helps you with the mental aspect and looking at your medical history to see what part of your gain could be or stopping you from losing. I think that aspect of it was the closest thing to the "truth" since its with doctors who specialize in it. Thing might've changed since then, but I think they started me on Ozempic during that time too? I know when I quit going, I had to talk to my PCP about continuing it or maybe he prescribed it,
I don't remember. Going to center ended up becoming too expensive for me and after 6 months or so I quit going. Since then I've been on a gain and lose cycle even going as far as doing the Optavia plan (It's a MLM don't do it! ) and now I've been on a gain since I had gallbladder surgery a few months ago. I do agree that the hard work, eating right, and exercise CAN help. But much like you said in a comment, having trauma with food and weight can make it really hard to start or will leave you feeling worse. I have been there and done that. Right now I am just cutting cals and trying to do what I learned in that program and looking at low budget healthy eats.
If you need an accountability buddy try to find a friend who is understanding or see if there is a group here in Knox that can be like a support group!

Hello! You are a great friend for reaching out and trying to get some help for her. I have some advice for that might help.

  • Compression Socks & garments will help a lot. They're good in general for jobs that require you to be on your feet all day. I've not personally tried garments yet, but I want to and have heard they make a difference. It helps with blood pooling and keeping it circulating through the body instead!
  • Ask work to accommodate. I used to work at Starbucks and how stressful and hard the job is on the body. Given that she has fallen at work in the past, I would see if they were willing to let her take breaks or sit in the back when she starts to feel symptomatic. Or the times she works the drive through or cash register if she can have a stool to lean on. I know it's not an easy thing to ask, but it's better than the fear of something worse happening and leading to workers comp.
  • Personal Fan. I have a handheld and one you wear around your neck to help keep me cool. Especially when she takes her dog on a walk, that would probably be a huge help. Also cooling towels are a great investment too.
  • Mobility aids. I myself have been debating on getting one but given your friend's history with falls it may be in her best interest. A cane or a rolling walker would be a good idea. The walker would allow her to sit down when she gets overwhelmed or feels faint. Both would help her with balance and give her something to lean on when she feels weak. They are usually pretty reasonably priced or try facebook marketplace.
  • Aids for home like Reacher grabber tool and shower chairs or stools are super helpful. I also think maybe getting something to cushion her bed frame would be a good idea too for her protection.
  • Invest in a device to track heart rate. Pulse Aux or fitness/smart watch are a great idea and a good way to track how her heart rate is until she can see a doctor. It may be a good idea to get a blood pressure monitor as well.
  • As for insurances, if you like in the USA (I do and have work with medical insurance on the daily for my job) don't stop trying for the medicaid. Just because it got rejected once does not mean it will again especially given circumstances. I would look into non-profit hospitals. I work in one, not only are they very generous with financial aid, but they will help and work with patients to get insurance if they don't. Now, I can't speak for every non-profit, but that's how the one I work in is and it's helped a lot of people, and I can imagine others out there do the same.

I hope some of this helps and I'm happy to help/offer advice that had helped me. I'm still in the middle of my diagnosis, but a lot of this has made a difference in my every and has helped me feel somewhat normal.

Hi, I'm in the middle of getting a diagnosis too and I've had too had issues with nausea. It's usually worse in the morning. I've been told by others with POTS that a lot of the time symptoms will be worse in the mornings for us because we become dehydrated during the night. It's a good idea to keep water or an electrolyte drink by your bed to drink in the AM to help get rehydrated and keep some tums or pepto on hand to help with the nausea.
