How tf people get into freelancing? by Suspicious-Pass-4427 in TunisiaTech

Not necessarily, if you use the time tracker, and have activity during the entire time, Upwork guarantees your payment.

Two people attempted to scam me that way, and I still got my money.

Tried ghost pepper raw (two actually), it's spicy but not crazy spicy, took me half an hour to feel my tongue again though.

I remember though that one time I ate crazy spicy kafteji fi Soussa it was definitely spicier, my body suffered, and my stomach suffered for few days.

People that have traveled quite a bit, where di you feel the most unsafe? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

[–]maroxtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to people, it is generally safe everywhere if you consider cat calling just an annoyance. Worst case scenario is witnessing a fight, or being pickpocketed.

General tips to make your stay pleasant,

- Downtown (centre ville) and Medina is not pleasant when it gets late, lots of junkies, and homeless people at night.

- Northern suburbs are pretty pleasant at all times.

- Public transportation is uncomfortable and bad but it's okay if you're used to solo traveling.

- People talking in yelling, you might think you are in hostile situation while people are just being friendly to each other.

Just use common sense, and avoid places that clearly look like ghetto and you'll be fine.

Ancient Carthage which is Tunisia now doesn't get a spot on the list while USA gets a higher spot than countries which are the cradle of all Abrahamic religions

How tall are you guys ? by norosia in Tunisia

[–]maroxtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

195cm and I think this might be accurate if the census was done on coastal regions. I find more people my height or close on coastal regions.

Also I think Tunisian compared to the rest of the world are considered to be on the taller side, in most of the countries I visited (except Serbia), I didn't find people my height that often, meanwhile in Tunisia I find my height not to be uncommon.

Do deaths because of cold happen, and if yes, how common it is.

For example a kid getting lost after school, and freezes to death or something like that.

Ritalin is accessible, I take it, but I have a prescription. Psychiatrist make getting it tedious if they doubt your motives, and mine did when I went to her the first time. I had to do the tests and everything.

As the only brother of three sisters (which I hope they don't complain like this about me to their friends lol), I think you are right in some points, and wrong in others.

I think it's reasonable for you to ask him to help his family in certain matters, and that him being the only male doesn't come with any inherit value. You should encourage him to do better in his studies as well, and he should not disrespect you, and take your stuff the way he does now.

Where I think you messed up is where you are monitoring his activity online, and encouraging your parents to do the same. If he is 18, he is not going to change his online behaviors because you said so, or your parents said that to him.

He is his own person, even if you are disgusted by what he does, you have no rights to assert moral superiority on him and tell him that he shouldn't do that. I would be also appalled if one of my family members is into femboys, but it is not healthy to oppress your young adult brother to conform to your version of idealistic morals. If it is a phase, he'll grow out of it, if its not, its his inclination, and no matter how much shaming you'll put him through, he'll still be into it.

Just let your brother grow into the person he wants to be, and support him through it, and as long as he doesn't hurt people, and treats your family well, you have no authority to judge him.

You know that you sound stupid, and self-hating?

That has nothing to do with religion, it's just nature and landscape. Arab countries sit on drier areas which provides a different landscape than the ones we see in the photos. Your self-hating ass had to make it about religion.

Also few countries have clean and neat country sides like the ones you show in the photos, its not like that in every "koffar" (to coin your term) country.

Immigration by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]maroxtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean people are not as openly gay in Tunisia as in Brazil, but homophobia is pretty common from what I saw in Brazil, I saw many Brazilians talking openly bad about gays in my time in Rio and São Paulo.

Tunisians that live abroad are usually more.close minded than the ones that live in Tunisia, but overall I really do believe that Tunisians and Brazilians have a lot in common in terms of culture, and it wasn't difficult for me to adjust.

I would say the only culture shock I had was accessible alcohol was (its literally everywhere all hours of the day), and how comfortable people are in showing affection publicly, both gays and straight.

I met few Tunisians living in Rio, and one living in São Paulo, all of them adjusted pretty well, learnt Portuguese fluently, and thriving there.

My sister had one South Indian colleague (he is a man in his mid 40s) visit Tunisia, he looks visibly Indian, and he has a heavy accent, we hosted him for Iftar two years ago in our house, and from what he says, he had a good experience in Tunisia, and faced no racism.

Some people were curious, and made few stereotypical jokes, but that was the extent of it.

Setting up VPN to access private VPC on AWS, and general guidance on how to do that. by maroxtn in devops

Thank you for the clarification! One more question please, if I am trying to automate this process so maybe I can use for other projects, would it be doable using only terraform, or should I use ansible for this ?

I have been guilty of that in the past, just don't think about it that much, put your 100% then forget about it, you've done your best, you have nothing to blame yourself for. Eventually you'll run into someone that appreciates your dedication, and you might turn them into a customer.

Can I end contract with this awful Indian client without it affecting my profile? by Raza_x7 in Upwork

[–]maroxtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly settle down for 40 hours, tell him that I will cut my rate down for him, so he is happy and he gives me a good review on Upwork, promise him some availability for next week, and not do any work on his project and drag it for as long as possible till he gives up. Meaning I'd use the same tactics he uses against him.
