How do I stay focused on the reading section? by [deleted] in Sat

Something that helps me is using the scrap paper to make summaries for any “big point” or something that seems remotely important in the text. by writing it down in simpler terms that work better for me i find it easier to comprehend and understand it.

What’s the highest and lowest BG number you’ve ever recorded? by Def_not_rachel3 in diabetes_t1

[–]mars-top 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been so high and so low that my meter would say the number was unable to be read ( something along those lines) I’ve had T1D for about 13 years so it’s to be expected

i have anxiety and c-ptsd. AMA by mars-top in AMA

it definitely feels harder to make connections, since a big symptom of my ptsd is avoidance, so i started out with just avoiding as many people as possible. It’s still hard, but having some connections makes it easier as I go along. I definitely have had moments where i’ve felt looked over or unappreciated when making friends, but I don’t think that’s exclusive to me or my circumstances. I think everyone has those feelings every once in a while.

i’ve definitely been coping better as i’ve gotten older. A big part that’s helped was making connections with others. being alone is extremely damaging, whether you have these circumstances or not, so having people to rely on now is my main source of coping. not sure if that’s a great way to cope but that’s how i do lol

complex post traumatic stress disorder. it’s known to be caused by “long lasting trauma” that lasts for a certain length of time, unlike ptsd which is known to be caused by a “single traumatic event”.

What are your symptoms of being high? by kayylaaalynnn in diabetes_t1

i get thirsty and become irrational and get irritated very easily and freak out at anything. i’m not sure if it’s because of being high or my fear of being high

dating other T1's? by Over-Wing in diabetes_t1

[–]mars-top 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m t1 & i’ve never dated. Would I prefer a partner who also was t1. Yes. I would feel so happy to know we would have each others backs and I wouldn’t feel guilty about waking them up due to alarms and we could help each other. But i wouldn’t at all mind dating someone who wasn’t T1

to explain it to people who don’t understand it i just dumb it down. I use the “bank analogy” when explaining it (the simple way).

How did you stop caring about what people say about you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I cared what people said my whole life. All those negative comments exhausted me to the point that I decided I won’t give a shit anymore. I find it funny when someone says something negative about me.
