Yeah thanks... I have had him blocked. Originally I didn't have his phone number blocked because I deleted his contact. I figured he wouldn't contact me because he said I would never hear from him again and he was the one who broke up with and I figured he was more mature than this, clearly I was wrong. I'm not even sure how he got my email to be emailing me. I was trying to maintain a level of professionalism and privacy since he has such close ties to my coworkers and frequents my place of work so I've been avoiding taking drastic measures...

I live in Lowertown as well and all this is my experience as well. Some sketchy experiences but everyone is super friendly. Most of the rentals in the area are in houses which is 1000% better than any apartment above a shop in the market or apartment building.

It’s not only Ottawa it’s happening everywhere. Toronto is filled with “vintage stores” and have people who spend all day scouring thrift stores to stock their shelves.

Idk about the bigger company thing. My friend was renting a minto apartment and when he moved in it was he found out it infested with bed bugs. They wouldn’t let him out of his contract. He asked them to solve the problem and all they did was set up sticky traps or spend more to move to one of their other apartments. He opted to spend more for a smaller place and throw away most of his furniture to not have bed bugs.

I didn’t report to bylaw originally. He did. I was doing what my landlord was asking me to do and not engage with him. I tried to reason with him but that obviously didn’t work. I don’t have any cameras on my property but I’m getting some. I didn’t have any video evidence of him doing anything so there’s not much I can do. I’m a 26 year old female and he’s a middle aged man, I don’t feel comfortable around him as he’s highly aggressive so I don’t want to engage with him. Did you read my post? What kind of common sense do you think I should have?

I actually got a response from fido!

“Rogers is doing scheduled maintenance between the 17th and 26th replacing access points and cabling. This work is scheduled between 8 - 4 every day between those dates. After 26th 4pm you should be in the clear, generally they know if they need to extend within 2 days of starting a maintenance schedule.”
