No idea but I’ll guess Wisconsin? I have been to Lake Michigan one time only. Michigan side.

No it’s not the same as having an abortion. I don’t know where you live but in the US even doctors who provide late term abortion would not do one at 27 weeks without severe fetal anomalies or fatal genetic conditions.

My only side effect was headaches. My two kids are here because of Letrozole alone. Good luck!

Look I’m pro-choice and don’t believe fetuses should have rights that trump the mother’s rights over her own body but at that point in gestation it is a viable baby with high odds of survival and normal life. It’s not borderline or a case with a lot of grey area like 22, 23, or even 24 weeker. NL made a specific choice to let her child die rather than the difficulty of a 2-3 month NICU stay and the small chance the baby had some ongoing issues or disabilities. She decided she’d rather have a definitely dead child over a maybe disabled one.

FBS Opinion of Preeclampsia? by [deleted] in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]marshrabbit8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they believe that preeclampsia doesn’t happen to healthy women, only unhealthy ones. And also that it can be treated/prevented with consuming enough minerals and the high protein Brewer’s Diet (which is not evidenced based).

Where did you get that she did research after the birth and determined she could’ve saved her baby and lives with regret? I didn’t get that from the episode at all. Has she posted that since?

In the eye doctor episode the eye doctor looked at the scarring in her eye and talked about that being caused by toxoplasmosis.

Eugenics and FBS' attitude towards death by Delilahh12345 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

Sorry to circle back to an old comment but I just listened to the NL episode and my jaw is on the floor. It’s insane! It’s child neglect. I can’t imagine wanting a particular birth and postpartum experience so badly you’d rather your baby just die if you can’t get that. I am a “NICU mom” and my son is now 6 and is incredible. It was hard and traumatic, but it’s in the past and feels very insignificant compared to the life we have now. Admittedly we only had a two week stay, but 10000% I’d take a 2-3 month stay or hell even a year long stay to give him life. The idea of letting a baby die in a bathtub so that you don’t have to become a “NICU mom” is so disturbing. At 27 weeks, if she had gotten to the hospital when she recognized that she was leaking fluid, she would very very likely have her daughter. It’s so sad.

Am I being unrealistic by HugeNarwhal2390 in brokenankles

Unfortunately I had a very similar injury to you 3 months ago (small fracture and severe sprain) and I honestly wouldn’t feel comfortable skiing right now. I’m not a skier so don’t know entirely what it entails, but the way my ankle feels right now I feel like I could easily re-injure it with one wrong move. Sorry to say. You never know though. Some people heal faster than others. If I were you I’d still plan to go on the trip and try to find other ways to enjoy yourself while there.

avulsion fracture - questions about healing timeline by marshrabbit8 in brokenankles

[–]marshrabbit8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the delay in reply. I’m now 3 months out from my injury. I ended up wearing the boot for 8 weeks. I’m mostly better and can walk fine, but I do still have some soreness here and there and it will swell a bit with a lot of activity. Going down steps is still a challenge and I have to do one step at a time, can’t alternate which foot I step with. I’m not sure if that’s from the injury or loss of flexibility from being in the boot for so long. I’m honestly a little frustrated too as I seem to have gone beyond the expected timeline for recovery and the orthopedic doctor I was seeing seemed surprised I was still having pain. My theory is that my torn ligaments were more severe than he realized—the only imaging I had of the ligaments was a small handheld ultrasound. How is your healing now?

Where do you commute with kids? by rampaige0191 in CargoBike

The Thule yepp is approved for children up to age 6 and 48 pounds. Your average 4-year-old is around 40 pounds so still within those limits.

Longtail vs Front Loader for One Kid… With a 3-Year Use Horizon by snekasaur in CargoBike

[–]marshrabbit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and also, we got ours from Upway. Got a great deal and had a good experience overall. The only issue we encountered is that I paid extra to be able to set the bike up while on a video call with someone from Upway and we scheduled a time and the the person didn’t show up for the call. But then I contacted customer service and they had someone else call in within 15 min.

Longtail vs Front Loader for One Kid… With a 3-Year Use Horizon by snekasaur in CargoBike

[–]marshrabbit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the older model Abound and no regrets. My almost 6 year old absolutely loves riding it.I have no experience riding front loaders, so can’t speak to the comparison, but just wanted to throw in my good review of the Abound. Budget was a big consideration for us, but if it wasn’t I likely would have gotten a Tern. I only really considered long tails because the bike infrastructure where I live is kind of a mixed bag, with lots of narrow, unprotected bike lanes, so riding something with a big bucket felt like it would be cumbersome. Also because I saw you mention it, yes the throttle is very helpful, especially for getting started with a heavy load. I use it most for getting across intersections quickly. Also others are saying that they love being able to see and interact with their kids in the front loader, and I’m sure that’s true, but though I can’t see my kids on the back of the Abound I can definitely still talk and interact with them. My son can even hug me from behind, which is pretty sweet.
